How To Tax/Stress Your PS3 Console?

Bought a PS3 refurb with a 90 day warranty/30 day return and had a random thought. Is there a game that is known to stress the console? I want to make sure the hardware has some life left in it before the warranty expires (and preferably before the 30 days expires). Plan is to basically to leave it running 24/7 for a few days to see if it craps out. It's a 250gb slim model, so I think it'll be ok. But there were a lot of bad reviews on Best Buy (where I bought it).

I heard FFXIII bricked some PS3s back in the day so I may try that. If anybody can chime in with other ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Bonus points if it stresses the hardware while idle (i.e., without me actually playing in front of it). I played FFXIII on xbox and did not care for it.

Or feel free to criticize the whole idea. I am slightly worried that I'm setting up the console to fail on day 91. . .

Continuous loop of Avatar? My PS3 sounds like a jet taking off while playing some blu-rays. It was so loud in our living room, I opted to buy a dedicated BR player.

Run a fully streaming game. Seems to make my system run a little hotter then usual. Like Grand Theft Auto IV or games in that realm.

I've had my system for 3 years now, still runs like a champ. No problems at all.
It is also super quiet. Must of gotten one of the gold 80GB ones meant to be sent to the magazines and CEOs.

IF the firmware is old enough install linux on it and run a stress testing program(such as prime 95 or linx)

I wouldn't be too worried about whether it will work under stress. I be more worried that there's something that's broken about the unit that caused it be returned or sold and wasn't detected or fixed during the refurb process.

I'd check as many things as possible to see if they work. Check to see if it can play both PS3 Blu-Rays and original PlayStation games. Test Blu-Ray and DVD videos as well as audio CDs. Make sure both the wireless and wired networking aren't broken. Try hooking it up to your TV using HDMI and the AV out connector. Check the SPDIF audio output. See if both USB ports work.

Obviously it might not be practical for you test all these things, but I think you're more likely to find something broken doing these kinds of tests rather than a stress test.
