com_drawfps 1

Does that actually work for you? I typed that in a million times, but com_showfps 1 did the trick...

Just wanted to tell you guys with 0xAA and 0xAF, texture and mipmap detail to high quality, Vsync off, I got:

1024x768, medium detail ( I noticed it runs much better the second time around, 4 fps increase, i think this is due to me having only 512MB RAM, either that or the vid card has everything loaded the second time around)

40.0 FPS in 53.7 seconds

Use 'timedemo demo1 1' so pre-caching is used (don't have to run twice)
(like mentioned on previous post)

Anyway... My menus go 'fuzzy' for some reason on 'high and ultra'

1024x768

Med = 46.1 sec at 46.6 fps
High = 49.3 sec at 43.5 fps
Ultra = 84.3 sec at 33.4 fps <------ lots of stuttering

I had a hard time reading the result numbers on my 'fuzzy' menues on high and ultra.

Cat 4.7's / app pref / sliders on performance

2.8C @ 3.5GHz (FSB 250, 1:1), 1GB Geil PC4000, Asus P4P800, 74GB Raptor, Audigy 2 ZS, BFG 6800 Ultra OC (default 425/1100), 61.76's, XP Pro & SP1, DX 9.0b

High Quality
1280x1024
AA/AF set to application preference

1st run - 50.8
2nd run - 61.8
3rd run - 61.7

Schweet!

doobie

edit: Ok, I saw that many are using "timedemo demo1 1" so I tried that instead of consecutive runs. Scored 71.9 with the same settings listed above.

edit 2: For grins, bumped the Ultra up to 448/1200 and got 74.1. Now that's ridiculous.

!! EVERYONE MAKE SURE YOU RUN YOUR BENCHES AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES. FIRST TIME IS ALWAYS SLOWER BECAUSE IT'S CACHING THE GAME !!

P4-2.8B(533fsb) - 1GB pc2100 RAM - Radeon 9800XT cat4.7, control panel on application preference AA/AF - run using 'timedemo demo1 1' - vsync off, all other advanced options on

640x480
Low - 36.9
Med - 36.9
High - 36.9

800x600
Low - 37.0
Med - 36.8
High - 37.1

1024x768
Low - 35.9
Med - 36.0
High - 35.0

1152x864
Low - 34.4
Med - 34.2
High - 32.5

My results seem kind of low compared to some other people here with comparable hardware. I also seem to be capping at 37fps for some odd reason. Almost as if vsync is on, but it's most definitely off (both in game and control panel). Any ideas why?

Is it just me or does running at low/med/high have next to no impact at all on recent graphics cards? It seems silly in all honesty. From the looks of it they should have included a low/med/high setting for three generations of graphics cards.

Someone's gotta come out with a serious tweak guide for this game. I'm sure there are *tons* of visual options that you can change by altering a .ini file or with the console.

man I'm so pissed, my results are so low is it because I need more ram?

Edit: my results were all first tests

Timedemo demo1

I did the test 3 times @ 1024x768 medium and the best result was 30 fps, not bad for a Radeon 9500 Pro

OC results: 9500 Pro 380/600 @ 1024x768 medium 34.7 fps

I don't feel too bad about my score, after looking at some of the others.

If you read this thread ,,, there is a solution

"timedemo demo1 1" uses pre-caching

SickBeast let's see your benchmarks

I was more wondering why you don't feel too bad seeing as you're so sorry.

I don't have benchmarks because I don't have Doom3 yet. Needless to say, you would beat me. I have a lowly 9700PRO.

You are the king don at this point.

I'd like to know why you think you need to single me out for your wiseass remarks!!
All I did was post my benchmark scores. No need to be a dick!
