Your system should beat mine, right? since you have an a64 @ 2.4 and a 5900.

System Details:
Stock Athlon 64 3200+
Stock BFG 6800 GT OC
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
1GB HyperX PC3500 @ 200DDR @ 2-3-3-6
AA and AF set to application controlled in display properties

1024x768 High Quality - 76.4
1280x1024 High Quality - 60.9
1600x1200 High Quality - 61.4

1024x768 Ultra Quality - 73.3
1280x1024 Ultra Quality - 58.3
1600x1200 Ultra Quality - 58.7

No, that's not a typo, it does bench a little faster at 1600x1200 vs 1280x1024 in both quality modes. I ran each test 3 times just to make sure and got consistent results (0.1 fps difference between the 2nd and 3rd run).

I've been playing at 1280x1024 High Quality personally. I tried 1600x1200 but it gets a little choppy in certain rooms. I tried 1024x758 Ultra Quality and while very playable, there's a stutter every once in a while when textures are loaded, it's annoying enough I wouldn't bother playing with it.

Trying updating to the latest Catalyst drivers if you haven't already. Might help. They should be at 4.7 right now.

System:
Athlon 64 2800+ OC
PNY 6800 GT OC (400/1100)
Abit KV8
1 gb corsair

HIGH:
1280x1024 - 71.2 fps no AA
1600x1200 - 62.5 fps no AA

ULTRA:
1024x768 - 74.2 fps no AA
1280x1024 - 69.2 fps no AA

1600x1200 - 60.2 fps no AA
1600x1200 - 51.6 fps 2xAA
1600x1200 - 38.9 fps 4xAA

YES! these results actually surprised me as well. I had a problem earlier where I would be getting slideshows of every special effect going on, but I found out that was due to my duel monitors. Once I changed it to single, it works perfectly.
I ran these test twice for each one because I didn't believe what I was seeing, especially in the ultra. I played the Ultra quality 1600x1200 and it seems to work great so far.
Also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I used "timedemo demo1 1 "

1024x768 -- 44.8
1152x864 -- 39.0
1600x1200 - 20.8

FWIW these are numbers with my 9800Pro at default

1024x768 -- 44.9 (found this odd)
1152x864 -- 35.6
1600x1200 - 20.2

Thanks for the info. Gives me an idea of what my system will do, which is pretty similar to yours.

pay more attention!!!!
open someone elses PDA file:
read their emails (particularly if they say SECURITY in the heading)
or just listen to their voice log.

the first code is 531

What res. is your monitor set for in the display properties?

I use a desktop resolution of 1280x1024 @ 32bpp @ 85hz on my 21" CRT monitor, not sure if that's what you mean.

And a lot more are "123" if you listen to one of the voice logs because some of the guards or whatever are stupid and they changed the combination to 123 hoping they'd be able to remember them... but they didn't, so they're still full of ammo

I got a little too excited and skipped some of those voice logs and all the videos, lol. I think I'm going to start over and listen/read/watch all that stuff as I go along so I get a feel for the storyline.

Also, I don't believe High Quality automatically enables 8XAF... I think it may just enable trilinear filtering if it does anything other than reduce compression of normal maps and textures. Because I just benched with all the other options the same, but I forced 4XAF in the drivers and got 38.4 FPS @ 1024x768 High Detail vs. my previous 43.6 FPS @ 1024x768 High Detail with AF set to Application Preference in the drivers.

Boogak,

That was my suspicion. I had similar results benching FarCry and CoD with my native 12x10 LCD. I even saw miniscule fps increases like your's@16x12. What is happening that is causing you to see almost identical numbers between 12x10 and 16x12 is that it's not really in 16x12 I believe. Set the display properties to 16x12 and run the bench at that res. and see if the results change. For myself I will have to try a tool to force a non native res. and refresh because the Dets aren't allowing it. I can pick a custom res. and refresh all I want but it just goes right back to defaults afterwards. I believe the fps for 16x12 that you are getting is actually 12x10.

Just ran some with Fraps running to find the low and high rates...

(my 128 MB 9800 Pro and CAT 4.7's)

1024x768 @ Medium @ 395/380 = Avg: 49.504 - Min: 26 - Max: 122
1024x768 @ Medium @ 405/380 = Avg: 50.091 - Min: 27 - Max: 123
1280x1024 @ High @ 395/380 = Avg: 30.811 - Min: 15 - Max: 80

*EDIT* Decided to record frame rates every second @1024x768 Medium @ 405/380... hehe

25, 38, 36, 54, 50, 32, 31, 32, 48, 108, 109, 68, 63, 55, 62, 66, 72, 57, 40, 36, 36, 53, 31, 39, 45, 61, 53, 53, 52, 43, 56, 64, 39, 58, 63, 50, 45, 39, 34, 38, 36, 27, 32

That equates to...
49% of the time it's over 50 frames per second
60% of the time it's over 40 frames per second
95% of the time it's over 30 frames per second

The low sections are where that one type of monster throws fireballs or whatever they are... one right at the beginning that he runs away from... then you see none on the screen for a couple seconds, then you see the 2nd one where he backtracks and meets up with the first one again... then it's smooth sailing until he goes through a door and leaves the 3rd one behind and finds a 4th one and the 3rd one comes up behind him again... then it's pretty fast again until he meets up with the 5th one at the end.
