How to tolerably run a program embedded with virus in great preventive care ?

I highly suspect a program with some malware code in it, but I really need to run it the program as its normal behavior as if it wasn't adulterated or touched at all

A VM that has no network adapter attached should be safe enough. Though there is always the odds of some kind of exploit that allows executing code outside the VM and a virus that is coded to take advantage of this could in theory go on the host. So if you REALLY want to be safe, use a physical machine that's not connected to any network. Do not connect it to the network ever until you format it.

If this is just a one time thing you want to try, then I'd probably just do a VM myself, the odds of it crossing out of the VM is pretty small. But if you are setting up an environment where you play to do this more for fun or whatever then I'd go with physical machine(s) not connected to your main network.

Or just buy a legit copy of the program.

I would use a physical machine with no network adapter and nothing on it but a fresh windows install.
