I feel for you gistech. At my college there are two computer labs within 1 minute of my dorm. Each of them have more than twenty top of the line Dell's just sitting there the whole day. I cringe when I walk in and they are just sitting there.

There's about 120 Dells and 30 G5's sitting unused at the Universityl. I would so own the world if I could just get my hands on them..... HAHHAHAHA.

But sadly..... I can't.

I get stuck in situations like this at work all of the time.

Earlier this year we were doing a rollout for one of our customers. They bought 1400 P4 2Ghz IBM Thinkpads and just over 200 P4 3.06Ghz Dell Desktops w/ 19inch LCD monitors. All sitting in our warehouse and I couldn't touch em since that customer provided their own software load to be installed on all of them.

We still have about 300 brand new P4 2.4Ghz Fujitsu laptops sitting in house from another customer, at one point we had about 1200 machines total from that customer.

We've even got around 25,000mhz of Athlon power, and about 10,000mhz of P3 & P4 power at work that could be assimilated as well. Unfortunately I can't touch anything other than the Barton 2500+ (O/C'd to 3200+) that's in my own work PC.

I'll just keep chugging along with my own machines and dream about all of the ones I see on a daily basis at work.
