How to upgrade from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010?

I want to make sure I keep all my emails, folders, contacts, and especially message rules.

I have a full version of Outlook 2010. Do I install Outlook 2010 with Outlook 2007 still installed?

Can I then just import my Outlook 2007 info?

Or do I need to save my Outlook info, uninstall 2007 and the install Outlook 2010?

Any ideas?

do upgrade, it will replace outlook 2007 with outlook 2010 - they can't co-exist.
it will also import all your settings
i did it, it is safe, no need to backup anything, but you can backup your pst files

I just upgraded from Office 2007 to 2010. No need to uninstall, just upgrade. Everything came over just fine. OneNote notebooks and everything in Outlook (email accounts, calendar, contacts, favorites, rules, all of it) works without lifting a finger to update anything.

I've been doing this recently for many PCs at work. I've had no issues upgrading, it just installs over the old version and keeps all the settings. Works great for 2003 and 2007!
