I don't know really. I picked up my first (trough second pack) one while talking to a stripper in Chicago. I doubt it had any real physical effects since I had been dipping for a year or so prior to that.

Never did smoke a cigarette... even when drunk. I figured they're probby just like every other drug or muse (except alchohol that's legal) - doesn't do sh!t.

But, I did try pot, lsd, and ecstacy and I can say they're all worth trying. Though, you probby don't wanna throw your life away on any one of them.

Actually, a friend of mine will have his 18th birthday tomorrow and he suggested do something "special", and we (my other friends and me) dared him to smoke a cigarette. But the kicker is if he does smoke, we will have to smoke with him too and I'm a non-smoker, so I thought I can hear some of the experiences of the people here.

I was four or five and I was hanging out with the some older kids. They were six and seven. One kid got a beer and the other kid a a couple of cigarettes. I remember I first blew on the cigarette and then I took in a lung full. I have not smoked since.

I did not start drinking beer until I was in college.

Tasted horrible and made me feel extremely uncomfortable; lightheaded and a bit nauseous. I ended up with a 1+ pack a day habit for close to ten years, which I finally quit 2 years ago to the day. Bad stuff, sounds like a really stupid way to celebrate his birthday.

I used to smoke on occasion, when I was drinking. My dad smoked my entire child life so I think that had something to do with me not coughing up a lung the first time.

I was 13 and remembered where my parents stashed the carton they picked up off street-handouts (in NYC - this was way back in like '89 or so) ... me and my younger brother got to it... lit one up... I had no clue how to smoke it but the taste and odor was horrendous. I'm glad I did it cause it turned me off to cigs forever.

I really enjoyed my first cigarrette(that I actually inhaled). There was some coughing, but the flavour and "high" was quite pleasant. After that though other cigarrettes were never the same as that first one.

That said, get him to do something else. Cigarrettes are extremely addictive and smoking just one can cause addiction. After the first smoke there is hardly any pleasure(assuming pleasure has been acheived) in smoking, you end up smoking just to avoid the craving and not because it's pleasant.

Smoke some pot, drink some beer, or (best idea) go bungy jumping instead.
