I think it's hilarious how everyone thinks their weekends are too short!
They work 40 hours a week and have a 48 hour weekend! That's not very work intensive at all! Get back to work!

Work 40 hours? In ONE week? You dammed slave driver!!

My "day job" is SUPPOSED to be 4 days per week...5 hours per day. but since it's tax season and everyone else is busy with that, I'm working 7-8 hours per day for my 4 days...<phew>

Then, I normally work 3-4 hours on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights and 6-8 hours on Saturday at my "other job," but that manager has been sick...and hasn't updated the schedule, so I didn't bother to remind her...and had all weekend off.

I spent most of my life working 12-14 hours per day, 6-7 days per week...often adding 3-5 hours per day in commute time...I'm enjoying working part-time right now...and I doubt I'll ever go back to "living to work," when it's much mo-bettah to "work to live" instead.

Went to San Diego Friday-Sunday with my wife, sister-in-law and brother-in-law for the girls' birthday (twins). Took in a movie and ate a lot of good food.

No kids or dogs.

A good time was had by all.

Most of my weekend consisted of cheering my guts out for Canada. It worked, but the beer has rendered my guts useless.

I am scheduled 8:30=5:30 with Wed, Sun off. Granted I get an hour lunch, but at least a couple times a week they take that down to 1/2 hour. I also sign up for OT on Weds. So I usually work between 45-50 hours a week.

But I also leave my house at 7am (I need to hurry up!) and rarely get home before 6:30 or 7pm.

Not all of us can live on a cruise ship

Instead of hanging by my pool with a friend and then going on a whale watch... I had to evacuate and hang by the pool at a friend's house. An imprompteau tsunami party... Overall it was a fun weekend.

Except for that whole US/Canada hockey fiasco...

Went to a Peer Educator conference Saturday. That was cool.

Saturday night and Sunday I prepped and poured a concrete canoe

Decent. Worked Saturday morning and then went shopping in the afternoon. Sunday got up bright and early and spent the day ice climbing. Now, I am rather sore, but it was worth it.

It rained all day Saturday so I took my son to Fry's to get some speakers for my new PC I just built and I picked up a new pair of hiking boots too. Went out to dinner with my wife and some friends Saturday night in Carlsbad...dropped almost $400 between 8 of us on a nice Italian meal. Sunday I cleaned the garage and my motorcycle then I mowed the back lawn.

It was relaxing and enjoyable but too short.

Friday night I drank lightly and had fun dancing at the bar.

Saturday morning I woke up to a ridiculous cold and could barely move, slept all day. Worked from 10pm till 2 am and had 3 women approach me while working, one of which I ate breakfast with and chatted with till about 6:30 am.

Sunday I woke up around 1, judged a bloody mary contest at a bar, and then had a really great long day of light drinking with some friends.

Today I laid around, watched Bladerunner, and lifted. Gonna go sip a couple beers with some more friends.

Not bad in all. No heavy drinking, just enough to be social the whole weekend.

Power went out Thursday night about 10pm as a storm was dumping almost 2 feet of snow on me. It didn't come back on till a few hours ago (just took the best shower of my fucking life). It was a bit cold, but I pulled my couch in front of the fireplace and passed the time with some good books, my dog and a bottle of brandy.

Obligatory:

Walked into the ER right behind a full arrest on Sunday. We were there to pickup a psych patient who was in a bad mood. She was a fun patient. Right after her we got a pelvic and arm fracture call. The full arrest was rather, well eesh I suppose. 65ish y/o male, shoveling snow, only down for a few minutes, they weren't able to resuscitate him. I found it rather odd that a family member of his was in the room while they were working him. Interesting weekend to say the least.
