I'll say it, so far the Government is working the way it should. Ignoring Trumps me talk and selling his fucking hat during his brief tour, I think he is handling it good enough.

Conservatives generally don't care about what happens to others, only what happens to themselves, they call it individualism, though it is really just a lack of empathy. That goes for disaster relief in cases like this, and for things like gay marriage, where you see a lot of people opposed until they find out one of their own family members in gay, then suddenly switch to the opposite side.

There are countless examples of this, even Ayn Rand relied on government programs when she needed them later in life.

"As a father of a daughter/husband of a woman, I feel very strongly about domestic abuse!" (Uh huh, sure)
"As a victim of flooding/[insert natural disaster here], I believe greater aid is needed." (Uh huh, sure)

Always the victims. Never capable of empathy.

Is it just me or is T-Rump treating this like a campaign rally? Stating things like (paraphrased) we can congratulate ourselves when this is over, what a crowd...what a turnout and this will be the best response to by an administration in history.

Why does this man have to think that everything has to be about him? Always looking for a pat on the back. Seems it wasn't Bannon has competition in the 'suck his own c _ _ k' department.

I saw some of his statements on the news last night, although he sucks at delivery they weren't all that bad. For example, "In years to come this will be what people look at as the way to handle a disaster." Yeah, sounds like his normal braggart self, but it does say he wants this recovery to get all the support and resources needed and that it is ran by component people. Contrast that to Bush for Katrina and I do think it sends the right message.

Now some of the lines were just him sucking his own dick, but I think overall he did better than expected.

Now the first lady showing up in 4" heels in all designer clothes seemed out of place.

Lol!...Trump's tweets about Obama and Hurricane Sandy?

Said by Captain Hairdo:

"Not only giving out money, but Obama will be seen today standing in water and rain like he is a real President --- don't fall for it."

"Obama is now standing in a puddle acting like a President--give me a break."

Don't want to dump on those people suffering down in TX however...
TX did go for Donald Trump in the election and Donald Trump does deny climate change and time after time during the news coverage of the TX tragedy we hear Texans repeating THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE or I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO BAD (i.e. the flooding).
So... my advice to Texans facing high waters would be to maybe rethink the hazards of climate change and better yet, next time they might want to cast their vote for the candidate that believes in climate change as well as doing something about it.
One thing for sure, they had best not vote for the guy that believes in coal mining.
Instead, vote for the woman/party that does believe in climate change and doing something about it.

Just a little food for thought to pass along while those Texans wait for that rescue boat to come along....

One problem with your argument is that the flooded area (in fact most cities in Texas) is pretty deeply blue. Houston's current mayor is Sylvester Turner a openly gay Democrat. Harris County (where Houston is) voted for Hillary, and sent 4 of Texas 11 Democratic Representatives to Congress. Texas is not a monolithic thing. It is made up of all sorts of people, and Houston is surprisingly liberal.

Stop pointing out facts...it screws up their agenda. There were plenty of dipshits calling against aid from Texas and other areas when Hurricane Sandy hit. Now the opposite end of the spectrum is saying the same thing -- deny aid to Texas because it is opposite of their political beliefs.

Houston is a nice pretty blue but since it sits in Texas, F 'em, amiright?

Unrelated to Trump but a woman in Beaumont Texas reached out desperate for help and accidentally contacted city officials in Beaumont Alberta. She got the help she needed anyway.

Kudos to him for helping out. Very nice story to see in times like this.
Too bad none of this gets posted as an original thread...too many shit posts about Trump, Obama or political hate from both sides.

The stupid divisiveness of decades of right wing agitprop has affected the basic attitudes of way too many people.

Yeah thought about a new thread but didn't seem significant enough. Didn't really know where to post it. Thought maybe we could change the direction of this thread.

Yes, because the left was always kind, peaceful and fun-loving until those stupid righties turned everyone into monstrous retards.

Joel Osteen is some piece of work. He and his wife suck money out of Texans to the tune of millions per year, all the while preaching love this and neighbor that. Storm hits and they tweet out a "Sorry, we're inaccessible, here's a list of shelters, good luck!"

People react the way you'd expect to that news, then suddenly the mega church and it's stadium like capacity is accessible and available!

Way to go poseurs trying not to look selfish, you got out christianed by a mattress salesman.

Profile of 2 Presidents dealing with hurricanes. Obama meeting with Sandy victims, Trump meeting with pols congratulating each other and Trump doing product placement.

Anyone have pics of Trump talking to Harvey victims? I'm sure there were some in that area.

Canadians are such nice people. We should just declare war on them and immediately surrender.

During Katrina the Canadian Royal Mounted Police made it to New Orleans before our own federal govt. They are the best neighbors.

We shouldn't lower ourselves to Ted Cruz's pathetic, hypocritical standards. Americans need help, even they are Ted Cruz voters.

That being said, I think there are consequences and concessions that Ds can force.

Basically further frustrate the Trump agenda. Wall money in 2018 is gone. Can't spend a dollar on a useless wall while people sit homeless.

Tax cuts gets slowed way down, and likely scaled way back. None of those idiotic cuts Trump proposed. Climate change won't be going away.

Lots of favors to be called in if anything is going to be done on infrastructure
Here you go you ignorant hole.

"
However, that’s not what Congress gave him, or what he signed. Instead, the bill was loaded up with earmarks and pork barrel spending, so much so that only around half of the bill ended up actually being for Sandy relief."

That's right, only about 1/2 the money from that Sandy Bill went to help the victims of Sandy. Just another example of Democrats and liberals stealing money from Americans to fund their special interests and pay off their political allies at the expense of victims of disasters.

As usual the fucktard can't even read..

From the article:

Consider just a handful of the goodies contained in the final legislation:

  • $150 million for Alaska fisheries (Hurricane Sandy was on the east coast of the US; Alaska is the country’s western most tip); (LIBERALS IN ALASKA??? SINCE WHEN??? I'm pretty sure Alaksa is a super red state)
  • $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in Washington, D.C. (a city largely unaffected by Hurricane Sandy); (LIBERALS IN SMITHSONIAN??? SINCE WHEN??? I'm pretty sure Smithsonian is a pretty non-partisan museum)
  • $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments (at the time of the Sandy supplemental, these agencies already had 620,000 cars between them); (LIBERALS in HOMELAND SECURITY AND DOJ??? SINCE WHEN???)
  • $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries (because why not?); (LIBERALS IN NATIONAL CEMETARIES??? SINCE WHEN??? Coulda swore the only ones making issues about it are the confederate monument guys)
  • $821 million for the Army Corps of Engineers to dredge waterways with no relation to Hurricane Sandy (the Corps never likes to waste a disaster); (LIBERALS IN THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS??? SINCE WHEN??? Mostly they just take care of engineering bridges most of which are in Red States)
  • $10 million for FBI salaries and expenses (it seemed like a good idea); (LIBERALS IN THE FBI??? SINCE WHEN??? Oh that's right.. they had to create issues about her emails since they're so liberal)
  • $118 million for AMTRAK ($86 million to be used on non-Sandy related Northeast corridor upgrades). (LIBERALS IN AMTRAK??? SINCE WHEN??? And did you forget how many train derailments we have had?)

QED, For the poster.. you should know Visual Impairment and Mental Health which you're suffering from is covered by Obamacare. But first you have to admit you need help.
