LOL, seriously how mad are the Democrats over Trump's pitch-perfect handling of this storm so far? I haven't seen them this angry since Republicans took their slaves away.

Is it just me or is T-Rump treating this like a campaign rally? Stating things like (paraphrased) we can congratulate ourselves when this is over, what a crowd...what a turnout and this will be the best response to by an administration in history.

Of course he's treating it like a campaign rally. He even wore the Official USA 45th Presidential Hat, (available for purchase from his campaign for a mere $40.) https://shop.donaldjtrump.com/collections/headwear

Why does this man have to think that everything has to be about him? Always looking for a pat on the back. Seems it wasn't Bannon has competition in the 'suck his own c _ _ k' department.
President Dickhead bragging about his crowd size again??

This piece of filth has no shame. This ain't a fucking reality show. Maybe his supporters need to clue this asshole in.

If you call bragging about his crowd size while people are dying then you are as soulless as Trump.

How does it feel to be incapable of empathy? I guess that's why you relate so well to Trump.

Recriminations over the past are stupid & pointless. It's an opportunity for all Americans to call on our better natures & call on our govt to do what can be done to help our fellow Americans & make donations as well.

Or has all this corrosive right wing attitudinal mind rot of FYGM crippled us too much to agree on that?

We shouldn't lower ourselves to Ted Cruz's pathetic, hypocritical standards. Americans need help, even they are Ted Cruz voters.

That being said, I think there are consequences and concessions that Ds can force.

Basically further frustrate the Trump agenda. Wall money in 2018 is gone. Can't spend a dollar on a useless wall while people sit homeless.

Tax cuts gets slowed way down, and likely scaled way back. None of those idiotic cuts Trump proposed. Climate change won't be going away.

Lots of favors to be called in if anything is going to be done on infrastructure

That'll be a great way for Republicans to further their Congressional gains in 2018! Do you work for the RNC?

Republican policies will screw you for the benefit of coastal elites. Corporatist right wing SCOTUS will make sure you get no lube in the process.

Okay Caveman, would you prefer this?
2005: Senior Citizens From Houston Die When Bus Catches Fire

That is what happened last time they evacuated Houston. It's tough to tell what course of action would cause greater death(s). Remember that the order would have been given, maybe, the night before landfall. People would have started to evacuate the day of....out on the roads as the flood started. That would not have been pretty.

That could have happened any time. Or are you saying that bus fires only happen when evacuating a hurricane?

you are an asshole in need of immediate psychiatric help.

Looks like you were against the Sandy bill, mostly due to BS right-wing talking points:

fuck him. that bill was so full of pork, mrs piggy was getting horny for Christie's porky ass. glad it died.

http://urbangrounds.com/2013/01/sandy-relief-bill-kille/

Cliff deal included wind energy tax credit expected to cost $12.1 billion this year.*******/xg7FL
Sandy relief shouldn’t include fisheries in Alaska.
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $5.3B to the Army Corps of Engineers (that’s more than their annual budget).
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $56.8 million for charting the debris from last year’s Japanese tsunami.
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $41 million for eight military bases including Guantanamo Bay.
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $100 million for the federal Head Start day care program.
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $188 million for new Amtrak lines (not repair, whole new lines).
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $20 million for a nationwide “Water Resources Priorities Study”.
Sandy relief shouldn’t include $4 million for the Kennedy Space Center. [Which is in Florida. Which was completely untouched or affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Oh, btw, that Corps of Engineers Sandy funding? Obama Admin has it earmarked for addressing "impacts associated with a changing climate.”]

Just to be clear, I fully support giving an aid package to Texas. I also think it should be a clean bill. But I won't go ape if there is a little pork in it, if the alternative is to do nothing.

SO this happened today. Man...those emotions were raw, reporter didn't know what to do.

Kind of funny, and kind of true. BUT.. Those microphones in peoples faces are what inspire people sitting in far away dry cities to send money and resources. To put pressure on their lawmakers to send their tax money to benefit them, etc. If the media wasn't there, the relief effort would have far fewer resources, especially long term.

That being said, the specific question the CNN report asked was stupid as hell.

I'm pretty sure that bus had also taken ~15 hours to complete what is normally a 3.5 hour drive, so the odds go way up.

I am not at all surprised that Trumpettes are sucking each other off while the Donald walks around doing nothing and congratulating himself.

Years from now when they write (right) books he'll be depicted as saving Texas and leading America into an era of mega-prosperity.

It doesn't matter, the aid is there and the job is getting done in spite of the weather.

Times like this are the last place where political grandstanding should take place. People are doing a good job of cooperating to help each other out and rendering assistance irrespective of political views is the moral and ethical thing to do.

Don't want to dump on those people suffering down in TX however...
TX did go for Donald Trump in the election and Donald Trump does deny climate change and time after time during the news coverage of the TX tragedy we hear Texans repeating THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE or I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO BAD (i.e. the flooding).
So... my advice to Texans facing high waters would be to maybe rethink the hazards of climate change and better yet, next time they might want to cast their vote for the candidate that believes in climate change as well as doing something about it.
One thing for sure, they had best not vote for the guy that believes in coal mining.
Instead, vote for the woman/party that does believe in climate change and doing something about it.

Just a little food for thought to pass along while those Texans wait for that rescue boat to come along....

Conservatives generally don't care about what happens to others, only what happens to themselves, they call it individualism, though it is really just a lack of empathy. That goes for disaster relief in cases like this, and for things like gay marriage, where you see a lot of people opposed until they find out one of their own family members in gay, then suddenly switch to the opposite side.

There are countless examples of this, even Ayn Rand relied on government programs when she needed them later in life.
