By having that as the only option. FWIW, I really don't care why we have bloodless surgery...all that really matters to me is that folks now have a rational and valid objection to transfusions -- they can be no longer viewed as fools as they have decades worth of research in their favor.
Now, it is an option.
If you didn't care then why bring it up?
It's not simply that refusing blood transfusions makes them look fools, myself and many others consider them fools even if they had originally allowed blood transfusions; decades worth of research notwithstanding.
My point was that for my recent situation it wasn't an option; when a normal hemoglobin count is 14 and mine was 6.1 and dropping, bloodless surgery or blood conservation simply wasn't an option. The surgery needed to be done at that point in time, not several days/weeks/months down the road.
