How would you rank order state U's in WI?

Platteville >> Milwaukee when it comes to Engineering (EE)

Careful with that, I lost half the classes I was going to take this fall semester because of to low enrolement in the classes.

The classes typically get canceled along with when they are offered mean for EE only power and controls are really practical to get if trying to do so in 8 semesters. In 9-10 semesters the computer emphases becomes doable but in the electronics and communications side stuff gets canceled way to often and a required class in that emphases is soon to be offered only other year…

Please note that the semesters given are do to schedule conflicts, class prerequisites, when the classes are offered, and how many people take them. However, independent study can take care of some of that stuff.

I guess I could see it being an issue if you really wanted to get out in 8 semesters. I graduated in May with Computer and Power emphasis in 10 semesters and I never had an issue with getting a class I wanted. I did take DSP just to help out a few friends that wanted to take it though.

La Crosse is #2 after Madison. It's a really nice campus and a good town too.

Seriously it's a blast here, beautiful and some studying gets done.

Certainly there may be better options for a young student, but as a possible employer, the only school that I would recognize on a resume is the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Of course, as long as the final degree says UW-M on it, who cares where he spent the first couple of years?

....... You would be missing out on a lot of good talent.
