If my wife is black or mexican my parents would probably disapprove.
Im not attracted to asian girls at all too.
Hell my mom doesnt even like to get a tan because the darker you are the "poorer" you look.
Wow. That's pretty f'd up right there. Is there a royalty attitude hanging over that rich people sit inside and do nothing while slaves work outside or something?
Can't say I've ever heard that before. But then again I'm not Asian or anything remotely close to rich/weathly/entitled.
You've never heard of that really? Its kind of a cultural thing with Asians. We're not rich by any means (actually poor as fuck) but that's how Asians think. The darker you are, the less attractive you are. You're right though, it stems from royalty sitting doing nothing and the peasants working the rice fields.
Im Viet and my mom thinks like that. My girlfriend is Flip and she tells me that dark people are deemed less attractive and thats why on Flip TV shows they are all extremely white. Flip people also try to marry white people as well to get whiter babies.

Let's see.....my dad died over 10 years ago, my mother is over 80. So, probably not much of a reaction.
That's actually common across cultures.
White skin was valued in western cultures when being poor meant you most likely worked outside and wound up tan. The lighter the skin, the clearer it was that you had the leisure to not work.
As jobs have shifted in Western culture to indoor work, tans have gotten popular. Now being tan indicates that you have the leisure to lay around and not work, while pasty white skin means you're a cube monkey.

I was going to comment about that too."they wouldn't even notice he/she was another race"
I doubt that many here have two blind parents.
Ah, but to some of these, a white person is the holy grail. Otherwise, the darker your skin tone, the less these same Asian parents would approve.
That's strange for a father to say to son...Just before I left for college, my dad pulls me aside:
"Now son, I don't want to influence who you date or anything, but I would love it if you brought home a nice woman of another race, because multiracial children are just so beautiful, and genetically healthier."
