And started again in 2006 with his move to Sirius. If you liked him back in 95 you'll love him now.

I'll take a listen this coming week.

You won't be disappointed. Stern's show on Sirius is funny as sh!t and his interviews have been amazing. FES taking about banging Mandy Moore, Ashley Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, ect and Kristy Swanson ex boyfriend taking about skull Fu** her.

Hey you must be one of the dozen members of the Dopie and Agony Army.

No, I just enjoy entertaining radio while I ride around all day. Say, has Hoo Hoo started taking his 3 day weekends yet?

I have XM and I can't stand O&A. I like Mancow (terrestrial radio) and once and a while I heard Stern and it was ok. O&A are just awful...

His daily show airs 3 different times on 1 station and 1 time on another and a couple of times on both saturday and sunday.

Both XM and Sirius have stations that play that genre of music exclusively.

Nice way to get fans to switch to Sirius.:disgust:

Sorry if repost I searched for Howard, Stern, Howard Stern, fans,
i predicted this.

sorry Howard, you lost your appeal when you moved to Sirrius. you aren't a shock jock anymore. you can do anything you want now and your envelope pushing thrill is gone.

sure, he has diehard fans who will defend him, but Sirrius has a lot of money invested in him and Howard is realizing it isn't panning out.

Oh yeah? Last Wednesday they had a segment right up your alley, Female Porn stars using power tools on themselves

How is it not panning out? Since he's joined they have gained 3.4 million new subscribers.

read what Howard is saying.

[/quote]Well if you had bothered to read all the replies in this thread you'd know that it was taken out of context.

A real beef he has/had was the lack of Receivers Sirius had for sale. In certain parts of the country they didn't have enough to meet the demand. Sirius didn't expect to sell as many as they had or there was a demand for. On the other hand XM is almost giving them away and if you are a subscriber to XM all you have to do is call up and pretend to cancel your subscription and say you are going over to Sirius and they will give you a deep discount in your subscription just to keep your business.

i read the article. i didn't need to bother with all the replies.

Howard said: "I was just at my psychiatrist and I said, 'I just got great news: We hit the 4 million mark. And I'm angry. It should be 20 million,'" Stern says in the magazine, on newsstands Monday.

"It's insulting to me that everyone hasn't come with me. I take it personally," he says.

"I want to say to my audience ... 'You haven't come with me yet? How dare you? We're up to wild, crazy stuff, the show has never sounded better. You cheap bastard!'"

my comment was that Stern isn't get the following he expects. no matter what the cause this was predictable.

Au Contraire, he's delighted with the following. Hell he got a 200 million dollar bonus in stock because of it.

He has 2 stations with the option for a third. Right now he is building those stations by getting other shows like BTLS and Scott Ferrall's and he's been auditioning many others. That 500 Million that he got wasn't just for him but to pay his staff and the other talent that he signs along with the development of the Stern Network.

XM screwed up by not signing him. If they had Siruis would probably be out of business in a matter of months instead of experiencing dramatic growth and XM would have the market to themselves.

only fox news would consider that to be "lashing out". if any howard fan would be offended by that.... go listen to 106.7 lite-fm.

Well to be fair that was an AP story the Faux News picked up. He actually was quoted by EW who did an article on him. Of course as any Stern fan would realize he was just being facetious and yanking the EW reporter's chain.

You can bet that on Monday he will lambasting Faux and AP for reporting this as they did.

Well in this case it only takes some common sense. Also keep in mind that when he's on the air or being interviewed he's doing his schtick. From all I've read and heard about him when he is off the air he's a lot more modest, generous, gracious and private with the same insecurities as most of us.

Again, I could care less about him pushing the envelope. If the show wasn't FUNNY I would switch him off in a second (which I do when he goes on and on about the lawsuit or XM). If the show was squeaky clean but funny I would absolutely still listen.

You should give his listeners some credit. It's not all about 'pushing the envelope.' The Stern show is consistently the funniest thing IMO on radio, TV, movies, etc. Sometmes they bomb, but the crew he's put together is dynamite.

Are you asking if we should believe what others have said about him? Does it really matter?

I know you never liked him (from previous threads about him where you posted your opinion of him) and I can understand why. From my perspective though I think he's the best Radio personality in America. Before his move to Sirius I hadn't listened to him for at least ten years. During that time I listened mostly to Alex Bennett (who's also on Sirius now). When my wife and I decided to get Sat Radio we decided to go with Sirius as all of our other friends had XM and we wanted to try something different. I tuned in to his show the first day he was broadcasting to see what all the hoopla was about and now I listen to him every morning. IMO his shows now are ten times better than they were when I use to listen to him due to the fact that he isn't under the guns of the FCC which is nothing more than the tool for the Prudes of the Christian Right trying to impose their morals on all Americans. Now he can be as provocative as he wants (and sometimes downright silly) and it's up to me, not the assholes of the FCC whether I want to listen to it or not.

Predicted what, exactly? Since signing Howard, Sirius has gone from 600K subscribers to 4M, and their subscriber growth has outpaced XM. Without Howard, Sirius would probably have gone out of business within the next year.

As for the subject matter of this article, it is completely stupid in that it takes Howard's comments out of context. That said, he will no doubt appreciate the publicity.

Here is what he actually said:

Does it bother you that most of your fans haven't followed you to Sirius?
I was just at my psychiatrist and I said, ''I just got great news: We hit the 4 million mark. And I'm angry. It should be 20 million.'' It's insulting to me that everyone hasn't come with me. I take it personally. The competitive thing is a sickness that eats at me. I want to say to my audience in this article, ''F--- you! You haven't come with me yet? How dare you?'' [Laughs] ''We're up to wild, crazy stuff, the show has never sounded better. You cheap bastard!''
