The length of the show is amazing now... I used to listen to the old shows in mp3 format, and cutting out the commercials left you ~3hrs of show. Now is ALMOST DAILY 5 hrs! People bitch about him taking so much vacation.... HE DESERVES IT MORE THAN ANYONE I KNOW!

It's going to be really great now that he has all of his old tapes back. I keep hear rumors of him using his third channel for a "Classic Stern Channel". That would rule beyond belief!

There can't be TOO many has-beens that can sign $500,000,000 contracts. Opie and Anthony brought a whopping 35,000 listeners to XM, whereas Stern has brought more than 2,000,000 to Sirius. I imagine he's OK with you calling him a has-been.

Agreed on both points. I didn't really start listening until 1996 or so, and it'll be interesting to hear how the current show stacks up. People tend to whine that the show used to be better, but I find it hard to believe it was ever better than it is on Sirius.

His guest are funnier now that they aren't censored. Wilmer Valdera, John Stamos and especially Andrew Dice Clay have been great. The Whack Pack (Gary and Wendy the Retards, Eric the Midget/Astronaut, Mark the Bagger, High Pitch Eric, Gary the Drunk, Riley Martin,etc) have been great too

What I do miss is the Billy West (Jackie Puppet). I've heard now that they settled their lawsuit with CBS and got the rights to all their old stuff and we should be able to hear some of the old classics on the Friday Shows.

Yeah, some of the Billy West bits were amazing. Somewhere I have a copy of an early interview they did with Conan O'Brien, and the Jackie puppet was just lambasting him (e.g., "You better hope your show gets canceled before they crack down on welfare!"). Too funny. Billy himself always seemed a little high-strung, though, and I think he is resentful of Howard.

bubba the love sponge is also a great show for the radio deal with the mcgillicutty on the sirius jones

gary dell'abate, i don't want to listen to. ever. he talks way too fast and just plays up to howard, but not in a sal sort of way

the guests on the show are great, for the most part, the sybian has seen better days...

really? hmm...that might change my thoughts on getting satellite radio. he'd be the main reason i got it, but i wasn't going to get it and only be able to listen like an hour a day.

sure, there's probably other stuff i'd listen to, but i'd just rather listen to mp3s for free.

My buddy is a Stern newbie, and we were both big Dice fans back in the late 80s, early 90s... We threw a party to watch HowardTV for the film fest and Dice appearances. How great... I'd LOVE to hear the old shows with Sam Kinison and Dice in their uncensored entirety.

As far was O&A bashing Stern, I don't get it. Why are they trying to PUSH AWAY potential listeners?

Artie is def much better on SIRIUS, the censorship is what held him back big time on FM radio, I am sure on FM he had to keep his trap shut withthoughts jokes that evolved in his head while ont he show, now he can literally blurt them out as does anyone on the show.
So far the most disturbing is the Buck Angel guest, hearing was disturbing enough but actually seeing it on HowardTV, WOW, it was a WT.F moment.

You guys are aware he settled the lawsuit with CBS and "won" the last 20 years of his tapes back for a paultry 2 million right? That's a huge win for him, and I don't even know what the other terms of the settlement are. It's obvious they manipulated it that way so CBS could save some embarassment.

Yes, and as I recall, Mosh was in on that discussion and knows full well she is posting a bunch of hooey. Mosh, I don't know why you get involved in these Stern discussions when you obviously don't like or care about him. The fact of the matter is that he's far and away the most successful radio broadcaster in history, and his move to Sirius has been a financial, creative, and critical success. Why do you feel the need to piss in our Cheerios on this issue again and again?
