The guy gives one of the best interviews I have ever heard. Forget the strippers and sht, he gets some Alist people well used to, I haven't listened to him since O&A came back.

You get a pretty good idea if the interviewee is a douche or not after a howie interview. He is so laid back, and asking actual questions instead of pre written fluff used to convininatly set up a plug.

At least, thats why I liked him. Listening to the dumb holes from scores or whereever used to actually annoy me. When you cant even see them, wtf is the point of hearing them talk ? ;P

His broadcasts are trite, monotonous, repetitive, commonplace, stale, tired, pedestrian, recurring, cyclic, rhythmic, dull, boring, tedious, tiresome, uninteresting, drobing, unvaried, undiverse, narrow-ranging, unspeckled, unmixed, unmottled, undifferent, unassorted, unpied, etc.
Millions of his fans would disagree, and given his contract deal with Sirius, apparently there is a market for his brand of entertainment. People like you attempted to censor Howard through the FCC...it is sad that satellite radio, like cable television before it, has become the only venue for true free speech.

I've had Sirius for a year now, because of Howard, and satellite radio truly is incredible...the music stations are infinitely better then anything on terestrial radio, and the stuff on Howard 100 and 101 is incredibly funny...Crack Whore View and Tissue Time with Heidi Cortez...classic Stern is back.

Opie and Anthony are what Howard used to be. You can hear it in his voice, he just doesn't have the drive anymore.

Lets see here, O&A have no restrictions on their speech due to the fact that they're on XM already. Stern says the word 'penis' on the air and gets all sorts of crap from the FCC.... but you're right... he's totally lost the drive.

Those hacks wished they could be what Howard used to be. You would lose your drive if the FCC & the religious right were targeting you.

Howard Stern says goodbye to terrestrial radio

NEW YORK (AP) -- The free ride for Howard Stern fans ended Friday.

Stern, a New York radio fixture for 20 years and host of a syndicated show for 12 million daily listeners, bid farewell to his fans with a final show on terrestrial radio.

On January 9, Stern makes his move to satellite radio -- where his once-free speech will cost listeners $12.95 a month.

"Good morning, and welcome to the last show on terrestrial radio," Stern said to start his grand finale. The sound of taps played in the background.

The show opened with a Stern-centric remake of the classic "What A Wonderful World," and John Lennon's "Imagine."

As the show went on, several thousand people stood in a steady drizzle along 56th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues; many waved signs praising Stern and attacking the Federal Communications Commission. Among those onstage there were Stern regulars "Jeff the Drunk" and "Beetlejuice," who led a sing-along.

"I'm a dedicated listener. I wanted to see this happen," said Chris Casavant, who drove up at 4:30 a.m. from Farmington, New Jersey.

Asked why she was there, Donna Casavant made a face and pointed at her husband.

After the show wrapped up at 10 a.m. EST, Stern took a "victory lap" through midtown Manhattan, standing on the top level of a double-decker bus as fans screamed and waved.

"What a day, it's crazy," Stern said as the bus rambled through Times Square while an image of the self-described "King of All Media" appeared on a giant television screen above. "You don't get to do something like this too often."

Addressing his fans from a stage before the bus ride, Stern bellowed "Long live the `Howard Stern Show' audience," before departing like a rock star.

Fans screamed for an encore, but they were left to wait until his "reincarnation" next month. The crowd on 56th Street was a circus, with a Stern look-alike standing near the stage. Stern's parents appeared to huge cheers, while the station manager at WXRK-FM -- the shock jock's terrestrial home -- was booed loudly.

Stern leaves behind a plethora of imitators spawned in the wake of his radio success, when his show enjoyed an unprecedented ratings run to hit No. 1 in New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Los Angeles.

His move from Infinity Broadcasting to Sirius Satellite Radio, while somewhat risky, comes with a huge financial reward: Stern signed a five-year, $500 million contract to jump. He's creating two new channels for Sirius, with the salaries, overhead and other programming costs coming out of his windfall.

Across his career, Stern evolved into the center of attention in First Amendment issues and censorship. Infinity paid $1.7 million in 1995 to settle FCC complaints against Stern. In April 2004, Clear Channel that dumped Stern from six stations in April 2004 over his show's content.

Sirius is depending on Stern to reverse the company's money-losing ways. Since the 51-year-old shock jock announced his move last year, the number of Sirius subscribers jumped from 600,000 to more than 2.2 million -- and that figure was expected to hit 3 million by the end of this year.

Stern was at his prime right before the first book. A slow & steady decline since then, & he is still the best thing on radio. He tries too hard to connect with all the reality tv morons. He's 50 years old already. He's just so scared of turning into Imus that he won't let go of some things.

howard sterns' drive has RETURNED!!!

he will now decimate O&A

some of his things he did in the past i don't find funny though, like the homo room. i was listening to an mp3 of him and bill shatner, and i didn't find it funny. i like their banter more than their stuff with the strippers or guests. and i'm starting to get worried about sal and richard, they are REALLY gaying it up. it was funny when i thought they were both straight, but now these 2 dudes are almost about to be doin each other

Who's High Pitch?

My Sirius receiver was $30 after rebate, I installed myself.

$12 a month for not only Howard, but 100 other channels as well (comedy, Foxnews live-altho that is suposed to leave),commercial free dance, etc.

Amazing how bad Hoawrd Stern sucks according to a lot of people considering he has the highest rated radio show EVER and has been # 1 in the Arbitron ratings for 20 consecutive years.
No one or not even 1 Television broadcast or ANY other broadcast on ANY medium can claim that.

Yes, being # 1 day in day out def signifies that you suck!

You sound like one of those kissasses that call him on the radio and go on and on about how great he is and how they're privileged to hear him on the radio.
I'm sort of happy he's gone. He gave good interviews for sure but I hate it when he and his cohorts would gang up on their interviewee and extort information on their sex lives and other personal info even if they were uncomfortable.
His partners namely that Arty guy is such a kiss ass. He constantly agrees with Howard on everything like he has no views of his own. Like I said, good riddance.

WTF, if he bothered you so much why did you even tune him in? I think you are just another one of those sniveling School Marm's who's more interested in what others are doing rather than minding their own business.
