how's this for bad OC'ing luck?

Ordered an 1800+ and an Epox 8k3a from Newegg.... AGKGA Y processor and a Rev. 1.0 mobo... some of the worst overclocking luck i've ever had, sigh

try overclocking before feeling bad.. it might actually overclock well.

no luck whatsoever really... haven't unlocked the multiplier yet, but the best i've been able to run stable at is 142 fsb thats at 1.9v and 3.0ddr voltage. yikes lol

I'm in the same situation, with an XP1600+ AGKGA Y. I'm game-stable at 148MHz FSB.

I suggest you should be cautious about VCore. Any VCore above what's required for stability only results in more cpu heat, which just adds instability. Same goes for DDRam. The sweet spot for my system is 1.8V VCore, 2.65V VMem.

There are no guarantees in overclocking. Sucks to get a unresponsive chip.

Isn't a AGKGA Y processor Good?

agkga is the older xp chip, the new ones i believe are agoga or somethin along those lines
