How's your UT2003 performance?

Mine is unplayable, how's yours?
Granted i only have a 927mhz celeron2 and a gf3 ti500, the demo was playable at 1024res but the retail one is unplayable even at 640x480!@#$
Wtf did they screw up? I get 15fps avg in the tokara map at 640x480 with the lowest settings and 16bit color.

I guess the only thing i changed between now and then were the drivers, i went from 29.42 to the 30.82 found on the cd.
I still get the same 3dmark2001 score of 4800, but why did the performance in ut change so much?

I had a decrease also. Considering that the install is well over 2 gigs, I found that defragmenting your drive after install actually gives a big performance boost. Try it out.

The textures in the full game are supposed to be 2x larger than the demo. Probably affects performance.

Yeah but is there a noticeable difference between the demo and the retail graphics wise? From the looks of things theres a performance difference .

Can someone post a Demo screenshot maxed out a screenshot of the retail version maxed out(both 1024x768)?

I haven't gotten around to buying to full version yet, so I can't tell you. I would hope so. If there isn't someone f-ed something up good.

get a 1.1a tualatin and shove it in ur comp using the new mod celly2 is slow..

i just o/c mine to 1.466ghz. ur graphics card is fine though, a bit of a mismatch i guess.

I'm running in Holy Sh*t mode for Graphics on a P4 2.8 GF4Ti4600 system at 1280x1024 and it's smooth as silk.

0roo0roo that idea did cross my mind, i already have a asus 370-DL sloket so all i need is a tualatin and some bravery to chop up my sloket and hope the computer doesnt blow up.
UT is gonna be collecting some dust now, some maps are more playable but not acceptable imo.

too bad benchmark.exe doesn't let you choose game settings, it seems to use some default setting for testing.

ah well, theres always 320x240 if u want insane #@% fps

Im too running in Holy $hit mode with a P41.6a @ 2400mhz with a WAY OCed Ge-Force 4 4200 and It runs like MoFo, fast and smoth

Holy $hit mode here at 1024x768. I get 45-60 frames a second while running around a map(nice and smooth) but when I get into a gun fight it drops to 20FPS and gets choppy. I know this is a simple setting somewhere thats causing the slowdown. Maybe I should try backing the character detail down a tad. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this or is it normal?

My performance is playable(IMO), but barely. My Voodoo5 5500 has met it's match and will soon be replaced.

Im running it at 1280x1024 on a AMD xp 2200 and Geforce4 4600. 1600 x 1200 was playable but not as smooth as I like. Might have to get a 9700.
