This one is in stock, I just bought one unlike the UMAX 3400. The only difference is that this one has only 36 bit color depth vs the 42 bit depth of the UMAX.
I did this deal: All IN stock!!

69.98 Scanner
20.99 Asheron's Call
9.45 Cleaning Wipes -- Gotta keep my screen and scanner clean
-40.00 Scanner Rebate
-20.00 Asheron's Call Rebate
-25.00 Staples 25 off 100 coupon
-------
15.42!!! Sweet, scanner + game + cleaning wipes

Hard to beat, and with the AT effect this won't last long!! Finally I got in on a hot deal!

Edit: Got mine and needed a driver for Win2K, here's the link

Good deal, but it's not $15.00 shipped. There are two rebates involved. It should be $75 + tax shipped, -$60 rebates. Good scanner though. I got it from Computergeeks a while back for $29.99 and it's very good.

As for FlightSIm 2000, try adding the Airwolf mod and playing multiplayer It's a BLAST! hehehe.

Is this deal available B&M? Then you could use the $10 off $40 coupon and not have to buy all that other stuff you may or may not want.

Does anyone know if the Asheron's Call Rebate form states that the name/address on the receipt/invoice must match that on the rebate application. This is the case for the Microsoft Flight Sim 2000 rebate form, which is viewable on the web. However this Microsoft Rebate Page merely indicates the Asheron's Call rebate form will be in the box. It doesn't reveal the rebate requirements/rules.

Does anyone know if the Asheron's Call rebate form can be viewed online? Thanks.

maxhunter, you listed both a $40 Asheron rebate and a $20 Asheron rebate. You meant a $40 scanner rebate and a $20 Asheron rebate, right?

(sorry, don't mean to crap on it, but I'm seriously thinking about jumping on this one and I want to make sure I've got the details right)

Maxhunter edited his post to put the link to the MS Asheron rebate, but it looks like he placed it over where it said scanner rebate. The MS Asheron rebate is $20.

I don't know about compatability for sure but would bet very heavily that is is.
OK... If is not USB only.

It's a pretty poor operating system that does not work with a scanner. The scanner interface to the computer is pretty trivial.

More to the point. Why would you want to hook this up to a Win2K server. Why not to a WS that is connected to the server. It doesn't make sense to hook it up to a server. Too many chances for errors. No prudent admin would ever do this.

My 2 Cents worth.

HP doesn't show compatibility for Win2k server on any of their scanners - at least none of the home level ones anyway. The only list Pro. I'm pretty sure it will work on server, as my old scanner listed NT 4 workstation and worked fine on NT 4 server. I was testing server on a machine - the only reason I would connect a scanner. As said above, it doesn't make much sense to connect a scanner to your server - unless you are just running server for test purposes and it happens to be on your machine.

Of course, they are out of the damn thing in my area.
