Buy it at Staples at $399.98, PM to Microcenter and use the $50 off $200 code. You will get it for $399.98 - $88.86 PM - $50 Coupon, or $261.12. Then send for HP $50 rebate and $80 GC at Staples. Your final cost is $131.12 plus tax.

Microcenter has D145 for $399.20. Staples has the same machine for $499.98 with an $80 gift check that will be available next week.

Buy it at Staples at $499.98, PM to Microcenter and use the $50 off $200 code. You will get it for $499.98 - $110.86 PM - $50 Coupon, or $339.12. Then send for HP $50 rebate and $80 GC at Staples. Your final cost is $209.12 plus tax.

Also, Staples is listing $50 MIR on the D145 next week and so does Microcenter. Both start at 2/2/03 so it looks like a new rebate. If it is indeed not the same MIR as HP has, it might be possible to get them both, pushing price on D145 down to $159.12.

Coupons found in usual places. You don't need to have Microcenter nearby to do this since Staples should PM the internet price, but it helps if you have one, so that you can avoid issues of shipping cost. Also, for the purpose of simplicity, I am counting GC as cash.

I tried this by ordering it first and then calling back later to do the PM. Not only would they not do the PM, but they couldn't cancel the order! So now I have to take it back to a staples store to return it!

Not to mention the fact that use of the $50 off $200 coupons at Staples is *highly* YMMV now since they routinely call for proof of coupon before shipping. I and many others have gotten the call and from what I've seen there is no legit printable $50 code. Yes you can enter it online but the orders with these codes are being reviewed for abuse by Staples CSR's before shipping.
