It has an SD slot so it should be able to, but that would probably run you 100 or so.

It needs to have a SDIO slot , not just a SD slot. This one has a SDIO so those Sandisk card will work.

It doesnt have integrated WiFi, but it does have an SDIO slot, so you could get the WiFi SD card like the one from Sandisk.

This has no CF slot and probably no bluetooth. Also it has the Samsung Arm V4 based chip at 203MHz, whereas the 2215 has a X-Scale PXA-255 @ 400MHz. The 2215 is a lot faster, an ounce heavier, has bluetooth, and a CF slot; basically the 2215 makes a wonderful gaming machine or multimedia system. This one is a relatively basic unit though it has an SDIO.

Remember that the SDIO Wifi card will end up costing like half of this PDA though! And SD memory is expensive too. Expect to pay $30 to $40 for 128MB.

MSRP is $199.99, so you save like $12 bucks; not a lot, but then again, this PDA was a good value to start off with.

The main benefit from the 19xx series is the size. These things are extremely small. I had the 1910 and it was the best PDA I have ever owned (and I've had about 6-7). I got rid of it becuase I got a T-Mobile Sidekick, but if I ever needed another PDA, it would be one of these models.

1935 has no blue tooth and is a ~200MHz processor. The 1945 is a ~266MHz processor.

For those interested in bluetooth and faster processor,

The HP iPAQ 1945 @ Sam's club (in City of Industry, CA) is $260 and some change. No rebates, no hassles.

Perhaps can pricematch with Staples, and use a in-store coupon to make the deal sweeter?

So this is basically an entry level iPaq that does have a SDIO slot for the SD Wi-Fi which will cost around $75 - $100? And on top of that it only has a 200Mhz processor? I think I will wait until the prices come down on the other iPaq models.

Can any of you really tell the difference between a 200MHz and 400MHz on a PDA? You can't! The raw clock speed means absolutely nothing on a PDA. I've owned Toshiba e740 (PXA 255 400MHz), Axim X5 300MHz, and currently Ipaq 1910 with 200MHz. There is NO appreciable or noticeable difference. This is PDA folks, it will never be as fast as PC, I don't care what the clock speed of CPU is.

And for those that complain about the lack of SDIO on 1910 and others; have you ever tried to browse the web on PDA? I have and IT SUCKS!

If you are going to play games on it, don't get this one. If you must have wifi NOW, will probably be cheaper in the long run to get the 1945.

The processor speed of 200 is low, but supposedly the Windows '03 operating system is much more efficient with these chips and so actual work speed is a lot faster than a 1910 for example, on the '02 os.

I got the 1935 as I needed one now. It works well for what it is, and I'm not gaming, doing music etc. I agree that THE most awesome thing about it is the incredible small size and the lightness. GREAT for someone that likes to carry it in a shirt pocket.

I'm intersted in web browsing on a PDA. Just how exactly does it work? Are there web portals with formattted sites to fit the screen, or do you have to scroll around like crazy?

As noted above, neither the 1935 nor the 1945 have wifi. The 1945 has bluetooth, while the 1935 does not. If you want wifi incorporated into the unit you might consider waiting for the h4155.

Here is a quick comparison of the h2215, h1435, h1445:

h2215 - 64RAM/32ROM, 5.1oz, 400MHz, reg headphone, 12hr, 3.5" screen, cradle, .61"thick, PXA2555, bluetooth, CF, PPC premium, great screen
h1935 - 64RAM/16ROM, 4.4oz, 203Mhz, 2.5" headphone, 8hr, 3.5"screen, no cradle, PPC professional, .5"thick, slightly yellow screen when viewed from angle
h1945 - 64RAM/32ROM, 4.4oz, 266Mhz, 2.5" headphone, 8hr, 3.5"screen, no cradle, bluetooth, PPC professional, .5"thick, slightly yellow screen when viewed from angle

9/20/03 - edit - modified to indicate no cradle for h1945. Thanks for the correction.

get a 2215 over the 1945, it's a better ipaq, (not much bigger either) and u can get it for about the same price if u bought a charger seperately. call staples, have them PM amazon for 359.99, and then trhow in a 30 or more coupon to get to 329.99 before tax. free shipping.

Yea, you have to scroll around like mad crazy on most web pages, though there are some (very few) optimized pages for PDAs. The option for fitting text to screen sometimes works quite well, but you still have to scroll a bit sometimes.

About processor speed: Yes, the 2215 is the fastest PDA there is. Yes, PPC2k3 gives a boost, especially if you're running emulators. Yes, my e740 (400MHz PXA-250) does stuff a lot faster than my previous e335 (300MHz PXA-250). The e335 took a lot longer to scroll maps in Pocket Streets, and searching up SimCity 2000 games took minutes.
