Sometimes, the only way to really tell if a monitor is worth buying is to watch it in action at the store.
This particular monitor caught my eye at the Micro Center because it felt "comfortable" watching the screen and the desktop shown had dark blacks despite being at 100% brightness.
While the one I took home and will return somehow did not quite replicate the exact in-store experience, the comfort of staring into the screen was a very real benefit, and I'll probably watch out for a refurb of this monitor or some other HP with the same blue light filtering tech.
