I've been using my 2009 MacBook for a while now, and in the past week I think it's hit rock bottom. Can't watch 720p videos fluently or browse 5~6 tabs without freezing. In the market for a cheap laptop for word processing, internet browsing, and some *light* gaming. Most demanding thing I might run is Killing Floor. I don't know much about laptops but I configured an HP for a pretty cheap deal. What do you think?
Good quality displays seem to be a no-go for low-budget laptops. Since the resolution is only 1366x768, I figured 1GB of VRAM would be enough and saved the extra $25 (for 2GB 7670M).
I could cough up an extra $100 for an A10-5750M HP with a 15.6" 1080p display, but I honestly don't trust the APU to run games on that resolution very well. Do you think it could?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and the AMD-powered laptop is also Windows 8, which is a con for me.
Also, I heard there were 2 versions of the 7670M, one with DDR4 and one with GDDR5. The website doesn't tell me, but does anyone know which memory type it uses?
Any other thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
