The local Wallyworlds are closing out the HP printer-copier-fax shown above for $99.74.

This has the flatbed scanner and the improved 11 PPM inket engine, which takes the longer lasting HP cartridges.

In addition, if you have a proof-of-purchase for any new computer system bought between 1/5 and 4/12, you qualify for a $50 MIR from HP. It's hard to imagine going wrong with a flatbed HP OfficeJet for $50 plus tax on $99.74. There are other rebates available, for example, you can get $75 if you recently bought any digicam.

Make sure you ask at the courtesy desk if you don't see any of these at your local WW. There was only a sign locally, not even a display model, but there turned out to be eight of them in the back.

YMMV!

Just substitute the yworld for MART.Be aware though that HP usually will not honor rebates on items purchased from this store. If you are counting on the rebate call them first! Also this price is pretty much what most places are selling the printer for!As for the part of it being faster, and better ink cartridges,do not believe it!

What is the quality on this printer? I am currently looking for a replacement printer for my abismal Deskjet 672C from almost 6 years ago that prints at about 1 ppm and is really irritating me. I had to print some notes out for my class this morning that totaled 19 pages and I had to leave for class before they finished since it took so long!

I was looking into getting an all-in-one for the functionality and so I can have a decent printer that doesn't take forever to give me a few pages! How does this compare to a Epson CX3200, a Lexmark X5150 or a Canon F20? The 11 ppm black text seems to be good for what I need it for, but how is the color printing and the scanning quality on the PSC750? The scanner function would definitely come in handy as I do not currently own one and I certainly could use one, especially for a copy function! Also, does this unit make copies without the computer being turned on?

This printer is getting my attention for $99!

Thanks for the info!

I've had this for about 1.5 years now. Yes, it does print fast - at least in black and white, which is what I do almost all of my printing in. Color isn't slow either. The scanning quality is OK. If you want to archive photos, it's not the best, but if you just want some quick scans here and there it works fine. The copy function is the best darn thing I've ever bought. Great for copying notes and other essentials. And yes, it can copy without the computer being on. I'd say go for it!

If memory serves, it has the same print engine as the 900-series DeskJets(good printers). I remember reading that in a review before I bought mine.

How about the printer and Windows XP? I read that there were problems with the drivers or the software a while back; has HP fixed that?

Sorry if I threadjacked a little bit, I am just interested in this deal...

And thanks for the information provided so far!

It's always a good idea to confirm the rebate info, but there is nothing on the form about excluded retailers.

There are online retailers selling this printer for about the same price, but they slap shipping and fondling charges on as well. Also, many of the ones I found were "refurbished", and these are specifically excluded from the rebates.

I'm sorry you don't agree with the fact that this printer uses the newer, higher speed HP inkjet engine and cartridges, but it does. I have an HP OfficeJet 720 at home, which uses the old, slow print engine with 29/49 cartridges, and an OfficeJet R80xi (similar to the PSC750) at work. The R80xi is much faster in any mode, and the 15/45/78 ink cartridges last substantially longer.

FWIW, Carl
