I installed win2000 and it recognized my scanner without a problem. Great.
Well, not so great. It seems the win2000 driver uses an ancient scanner driver (prob from win nt) that doesn't let you change the resolution of anything.
I looked on the website for new drivers and lets just say none exisit except for a copy utility update.
Here is the question....... I have my original HP driver CDR and I haven't loaded the drivers/software from it yet because (for no other good reason) I am scared to do so.....my computer is WORKING and I do not want to muck things up.... Has anyone loaded the old drivers from the CDR from the OEM distribution? Have your results been ok? I know I am being kind of a chicken about this, but I have had a previous episode loading hardware drivers on Win2000 that was EXTREMELY painful.
