The world knows about this fire sale. Everyone wants the same deal. No one is going to be dumb enough to pay $400-500 for this now. They didn't before and they sure aren't going to now.

Yeah, but if they sell them all in the US, the Asian company can sell webs on cheap $199 crappy tablets in other markets.

I wonder what the price on refurbs will be at HP. $79 for refurb 16 gb and $130 for 32 gb Touchpad? There's probably tens of thousands of this device returned before the fire sale and can't be sold new.

Bestbuy is now selling them for $99 for the 16GB. They are no longer giving the run around. They are not taking returns or exchanges though if you buy it.

I'm in Rocky Mount, NC. I'm sure others will, as we're nothing special so it was probably a company wide memo. We told everybody today we weren't though, just to make sure they don't change it over night. I'll be picking up a 32gb just because.

Best Buy is selling them in their B&M store. They had about 35 when I got there. Within 5 mins though 50 people showed up.

Not really...WebOS is nothing special in its current state. But with the ability to put Ubuntu and soon Android on it hopefully? GREAT investment.

yeah kinda my thought, it has HD youtube, Hulu, web browsing, etc. That should at least make it a couch browser or toilet toy until you can get android on it or figure out a better use.

TBH, that's all I'd need. It has a kindle app as well, though the browser should be able to handle amazon's web app. flash works sorta too. hell, I actually like webOS's email client as well.

but given what I want from a tablet, never could justify its pricetag. But at $100/$150? sure, why not?

Ah, I already have an iPad 2. I guess that's why I feel this way. The speakers on the Touchpad are incredible though - I've been listening to Pandora all day on it.

If I didn't have a tablet currently, I would probably like this thing a lot more.

I actually thought the idea that someone mentioned earlier with it being usable as a digital picture frame is pretty interesting. Those things are ridiculously overpriced to begin with (if you don't get a junky one), so why not pay $100 and use this as one.

Although, it'd kind of be like using a Ferrari to deliver mail.

Wanting the same thing here... I was pondering buying it from HP with a $50 gift card I have with them when it was showing as $57 with my employee plan discount. Now, HP's taken away EPP pricing on all of the touchpad gear.
