To be clear, I'm not saying Android 3.x is perfect. I'm only saying that webOS has a lot of problems right now, and that moving to Android 2.x is just trading one set of problems for another since Android 2.x isn't designed for tablets. 3.x would be the only thing that's an upgrade for the TouchPad in most respects.
Oh, I wanted to ask. Anyone use Glimpse? I saw it on the 6 pack, but missed my chance at it. It looks pretty sweet, but I'm wary about dropping 5 dollars on software especially since i don't use things like twitter.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but how is the webOS browser any more capable than the others? All 3 use WebKit; the only notable difference is that webOS's is apparently a year out of date and not nearly as fast. For everyone who says the web browser of WebOS sucks... you do have experience with iOS's browser and Androids right? I personally find it much better as I get a complete web experience vs neutered for mobile devices version.
Did everyone get their wifi working out of the box? I can't finish the setup without connecting to a wifi network and it won't find any of them around me. I tried changing my security from WPA2 to WPA to WEP to open and nothing. I can't get past this without setting up wifi.

Thanks for the glimpse posts, I don't think I'd find much use out of it and it seems to take away some of the aspects of WebOS I enjoy.
btw Fox5 I totally see your point, it's not the device you are looking for. For me it's simply a media/web portal and it fills that need quite well.

Browser on the Touchpad is extremely buggy. That makes it worse than iOS and Android browser by default. The only thing good about it is that you don't have to mess with user agent to get the regular desktop page vs mobile page. But it's way slower than the iOS and Android. The only redeeming quality is Flash support but Android has it too. If iOS browser had Flash support it would be the best by far but since it doesn't Android browser wins by default. WebOS browser is distant third.
So far with the updates it's a great pdf and ppt reader. I just hope the 16 gb goes through with data vision ~.~
there are rumors that HP is jumpstarting production to cover the backlog of orders
