What browser are you using?? I'm not having much luck and I'm on the 03.03.2013 rom.
Whatever default browser (blue globe icon) that came out with this built. Not Firebox, Dolphin, Opera Mini or Chrome.
Note Flash Player version is 11.1.115.37 (12.87mb). Still using 2.6.35-palm-tenderloin kernel. Dec.4 2012 build.

Thanks - I zoned there for a minute. Flash works fine for me with CM9 - it is CM10 that has the issues with Flash Player for me.

Honestly, if suggest ditching the Touchpad and getting a Galaxy Tab 2. It will perform better and has a built in IR blaster that comes with Peel so it can replace your remote. It's an OMAP 4430, so it will be a bit faster than the Snapdragon S3 in the TouchPad. I'm considering going that route if I decide to go XBMC. If like to see if Samsung is going to release a 2013 version of the 7" form factor though. They seem perfectly happy to milk the tab 2 for all it's worth though.

But I'd be fine plugging a cable in. I'll waste more time trying to use the Toichpad every night than I will plugging it in to recharge every few days.

I guess I don't understand this logic. I've never really had any problems with my Touchpad (at least with webOS) and I already own it, so why not install Android and use it as a remote if I decide to go that route? If I were going to buy an Android tablet only for the purposes of a remote, I'd probably just buy a cheap Chinese tablet and call it a day.

Ohhhh, I see... So you've never used an Android build on your Touchpad. Gotcha. Well, go ahead and do it. I think as long as you don't use any other available Android tablet, you probably won't know what you're missing.

It was my understanding that you were going to buy a IP to IR system. Those run about a hundred, right? You can get a Tab 2 for about $150 these days, and it would kill two birds with one stone since it has an integrated IR transmitter and its a significantly faster tablet than the TouchPad. I'm not sure if the cheaper tablets from China have IR transmitters built in to them or not, but if they did, that might be a decent way to go.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I just pulled my Touchpad off the touchstone for the first time in like 2 months and it told me there was a new nightly, so I downloaded it and installed it and now my TouchPad is just playing that ridiculously stupid Cyanogen mod video over and over again.

I find it funny and stupid how some of you folks are still comparing tablets are are 2 years apart in technology. Of course the newer ones will be faster/better and have Android 4.2 JB already built in.

I've played with the Nexus 7/10 and iPad3/4 my family/friends own and impressed by what it can do compared to what I have.

But the topic is about a TP that was never meant to even have a working version of Android ICS/JB without some dedicated folks doing all the hard work. For me, I love tinkering with a product I bought for cheap and max out it's performance, see what it's capable of doing.

I've had my touchpad since day 1 but haven't bothered to load any version of andriod on it.
Think I will give CM10 with JB 4.12 a shot today i'm bored need something to play with lol.

The idea of using it as a remote for XMBC is cool but i'm i've already sideloaded the andriod version of XMBC remote on my Blackberry Z10 and that works flawlessly.

I really don't understand why people can't write decent installation instructions. I followed the instructions perfectly and it isn't working.

Touchpad with CM9 isn't that bad or slow. Sure it's older tech now but developers have done an incredible job of porting Android to a device that was never meant to run it. And since you get to keep and dual boot into WebOS whenever you want, it's truly have your cake and eat it too type of device. It's truest sense of what Cyanogenmod is all about and why Android is so great. I have zero interest in running CM on my Nexus phone or tablet. Google does good enough job for me. But on older and manufacturer abandoned devices like the Touchpad, it makes perfect sense. I honestly don't understand the Touchpad hate here. CM9 runs very well on the Touchpad. Galaxy Tab 2 7" isn't vastly superior to the Touchpad. Far from it. The OMAP 4430 in Tab 2 7.0 is only like 20% faster than the Snapdragon S3 in the Touchpad. But real world use, both feels about the same.

The issue with buying a tablet with an IR blaster built-in means I'm tied to that tablet for a remote. If it dies, I have to buy another, which is the exact same situation I'm in with my Harmony remotes. I'd rather use the IP to IR devices and then I can use ANY device as a remote -- phones, tablets, etc. Again, I am just thinking out loud here.

Screw using Touchpad as XBMC remote. Install the official XBMC android app and run XBMC on the Touchpad itself. Nice thing about the Touchpad is that it has really loud stereo speakers for a tablet. And that's something you don't find in most tablets. Install your favorite XBMC video/program plugins and enjoy your streaming movies and TV shows on your bed.

Something was up with the package I was using. I downloaded another CM10 package (from last week) and it installed fine.

Anyone want to write a guide for this.

I installed it and it was incredibly hard to navigate and didnt pick up most of the files on my phone. Frankly as a media player it was horrible.

Oh, I don't use XBMC to play local files on my phone or tablet because it doesn't support full hardware video acceleration on Android yet. I use Dice and MX player for that. On Android, I use XBMC for its various useful plugins. Touchpad low screen resolution becomes its strength when you're streaming SD and low bit HD movies and TV shows from the internet.

Got CM10 installed. I am extremely impressed so far. I don't know much about Android as I've mainly used webOS and iOS, but what I do know is that I can actually get supported apps now and even Netflix works.

Anyone tried the March 4 build of CM10? Thinking of upgrading...
Did this last week. Haven't really figured what changed/improved. Noticed that the settings has an upgrade feature for the apps that are installed. So most of my apps are the latest versions.

Gotcha. I heard the battery life might be better, but I think I'll just hold off on the update if it's not a noticeable improvement.

Thanks!

phew... finally got around to reinstalling the touchpad tonight. Its now running the stable build with google apps. However no camera fix in there yet. I dont think I need the camera fix but I will try uninstall / reinstall / update to a newer build that has the camera fix already later.. .

FYI, the newest Cm 10 build has amazing standby battery life compared to the prior release. It's worth the upgrade. I can actually get by without nightly charging.
