Still have mine as well, but it won't update for some reason when I try to update via nightlies. Goes through the motions of updating and what not but the same build number is there.

Wondering if it's still worth it to keep the touchpad or sell now while value is still attached. Hard to find close to 10" tablets in a low $200 bracket.

I looked at CM10 but only one dude is working on it and it has too many bugs. CM9 is better for my use. CM9 and XBMC 12 Frodo are like the perfect combo. Touchpad has nice loud speakers for a tablet and low resolution screen is perfect for videos from Navi X and 1Channel. I didn't think the camera would ever be fixed but here we are.

If Skype works then that's all I needed to not boot to WebOS anymore!

I installed a very early version of CM9 and then just never bothered to update it at all because everything work just fine for me except the camera. Now I may want to do this. Come to think of it I don't even know how to update the nightlies, can I just put the latest nightly on the 'sdcard' and do the update from the boot options (don't remember what these are called)?

Oh, and is the bug with the audio jack fixed in this latest nightly (or maybe even many versions ago)? The version I have is the one where the external speaker doesn't turn off although there's a headphone attached.

Everything pretty much work in the latest CM9 nightly. No problem with the audio jack. It's also quite bit smoother than early CM9. It should be huge upgrade for you. You probably want to do the whole new CM9 installation thing if you're running really early CM9 build. It's probably safer since it will update to ACMEinstaller 3. If you're already running ACMEinstaller 3, then you could just download the latest nightly, Gapps, and camera fix and flash those three files after booting into Clockworkmod recovery. That's what I did.

If you're unsure, you can follow the how to install cm the easy way guide here. Stick to cm9. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31548-how-to-install-jcsullins-cyanogenmod10-preview-5-with-sound-camera-updated-1282012/

ponyo, thank you so much for posting this thread! My TP is now successfully running the latest CM9 nightly + camera fix.

I love my TP and I use it pretty much every day ever since I got CM9 installed. Skype was the only reason I boot into WebOS, something that unfortunately I need to do at least once a week. Now it's working perfectly from Android so I don't have to do the back and forth every week. Audio jack also works perfect now, as mentioned above. This was something minor that I could live with before, but it's really nice to get this fixed.

I decided to just nuke my early version of CM9 with acmeuninstall (I did do a nandroid backup first, just to be safe), and then use acmeinstaller3 to install the latest nightly (I included the camera fix in /cminstall so I could get everything done in one go). The installation process went very smooth without any hiccups whatsoever and everything was running perfectly ever since.

Awesome!

I actually followed the instruction on that link, which although the title is CM10 includes CM9 as well, and the link for the camera fix he included in the first post already. I did have to search for the latest nightly to include in cminstall and replace the one in the package though.

Yeah I couldn't find the link to the CM9 thread and I was too lazy to search. The CM10 thread had information and links for CM9 so I just linked that. Thanks for the proper thread links.

cronos, glad I could help. I have three HP Touchpads all running various versions of CM9. I finally got around updating one and was pleasantly surprised at the progress and polish of the latest nightly. I was hoping others could experience and benefit as well. I love my Touchpads and will never get rid of it. Sure the hardware is somewhat dated but it's amazing what the CM team and others have done with WebOS tablet and limited resources.

I heard the next version Krispee Kreme (Android 5) would come out next year. j/k.

I still holding on to 2 unopened 32GB Touchpads from last years deal. I'll use them for more mods to come. No intention of selling them.

After watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsVzGg4rlQE, I couldn't resist CM10 anymore. I installed it using the links below the video, and I couldn't be happier. If I had known it was really this easy, I would have done it a long time ago. I don't see myself booting back into WebOS unless there are some major overhauls. I'm running the preview from 20121216 and it's awesome. Everything seems to work, and, in some cases, things like PDF rendering are actually faster (so I can play on it and also use it for practical things).

If anyone's on the fence, just do it. I think the only caveat at this point is that you need to avoid letting the battery drain completely, but there are several posted solutions to this in the threads linked on youtube.

I've been browsing the xda forum every now and then but haven't kept up to date - does the CM10 build have working hardware acceleration and sound? I don't care about Skype or camera on it.

Looks like I'll have something to do this week! I don't even know how old my version of CM9 is...7-8 months?

That's what I was implying. The Touchpad is nearly two years old now.

Yes but Cyanogenmod 7 only came out October of that year. 14 month was a while for sure but that's still a far cry from 2 years.

Semantics anyway so =)

I got CM9 running on my touchpad but I cant figure out a few things..
1. my google apps/play store wont load.. how the hell do i 'flash it'... it wont go into recovery mode for Clockworkmod... just reboots in CM9.
2. I am running the version from July 2012, is there a more current version, that is stable but not nightly.. that has more features like the camera and stuff without these issues?

So far I am enjoying it fully, I think it runs SO much better than native webOS.

I wish someone would put a 'acronym' thing, all kinds of things, a newb will spend hours trying to figure out the right thing.

Since you prob have moboot installed, all you need to do scroll down to recovery to flash the 0429 gapps. make sure its in .zip format.

The latest nightly includes the camera and fix so you are golden. I say that the nightly is very stable.

Someone else mentioned battery life. I say it's ok. Mine drains fairly quickly when I game on it. Not so much when I surf. I have juice defender on there so it turns off the wifi when the tp is idle.
