Anyone that has used LnT ICS know if CM10 is fast enough on the HP Touchpad to upgrade? LnT ICS is really fast on the Touchpad and the last time I tried CM9 it was soo much slower.

nycdude.. the only recovery options are
boot webos,
boot webos recovery,
boot cyanogenmod
reboot
shutdown

thats it...

hmm.. Is this the new version of moboot? Then I don't know. I am not going to ask if you have cwm6 installed?

Is there a selection in menu when you hold down the power button? Mine says reboot to recovery.

Not always -

boot webos
boot CyanogenMod
boot ClockworkMod
boot webOS Recovery
reboot
shutdown

Edit for redundancy - I must be blind - how did I miss SKORPIO's post??

I used the link from this forum to build it.. teh stuff from this link below.. and followed this instructions. I installed CM9 but followed the easy install from this one.

http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31548-ho...16-with-sound-camera-microphone-updated-1913/

I downloaded links from that site... and followed that instructions.

I dont have clockworkmod, just have the ROM thing in CM9.. if I try reboot with recovery option it wont do it.. I think the install got hosed to begin with..

so do I acmeuninstall and then reinstall?

I had issues too - think I finally had to reinstall everything using the CWM6_tenderloin - had to put the "update-" on the zip as well.

I wound up with 5 zips on my install;

moboot 0.3.5
update-CM10 cminstall
update-cm-20121216-EXPERIMENTAL
update-CWM6_tenderloin-20121215
update-gapps-jb-20121011-signed

Sorry to bump a thread that is nearly 2 months old, but is anyone running CM10? How does it stack up to CM9? I am thinking about installing one of them on my Touchpad but don't know which to go with.

I prefer CM10 (jelly bean) to CM9 (ICS). Love the automatic/free updates on most of the apps I have installed. Sure it's a 2 year old tablet, but does the simple things I want to it compared to lugging my 17.3" dell XPS laptop.

I'll eventually upgrade to a the 10" tablet (Nexus 10, etc) but I'm not in hurry.

I have an iPad 4, but I still use the Touchpad and if the Android load gives it more life, even better.

How is CM10 in terms of stability?

Works like I expected. Never had a lockup, touchscreen responsive, HD 720p mp4 videos play great, eBooks and comics look fine, but battery life is about 5-6 hours. Would have like if it lasted 12 hours. With a working camera (video/still) I was able to use Skype and show my place/activities (Chicago area) to a cousin in the Bay area. Using a bluetooth GPS logger/tracker I can have a 9.7" Navigation device in my car and rarely get lost. Not bad for a $150 device.

Looked and used a iPad 3, not sure if I would spend that kind of money since I'm a cheapskate. I'll wait for a refurb iPad4 with 128GB <$400 and I'll get one, but that will take a long time to happen.. like 3 years when it's old tech like the iPad 1 is now. Love the iOS 6 but I have more of Android apps spent on.

I used credit card rewards to buy my iPad 4. I probably wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

I've been using CM10 for a bit (I posted above as well). I really like it; my use of the tablet increased immensely after I installed it. The only issues I've seen are that (1) sometimes I need to reboot to connect to a wireless network (I switch between a couple of different ones and every now and then it won't sync properly) and (2) occasionally the TP will shut down spontaneously (maybe once every 2 weeks), even with a good charge. I've not read about anyone else having these issues, so maybe it's due to my specific setup. Just wanted to warn you that it might not work perfectly, but I'm still super happy with it.

I keep trying various flashes on the TouchPad and always walk away disappointed. Even compared to other Android tablets.

I bought a $100 Nabi 2 tablet for my niece for Christmas. It has a Tegra 3, so it's a way faster processor, and it totally destroys the TouchPad in performance. I just don't see much of a point in holding on to the touchpad with a kinda sorta mostly working CM9 build when even 10" refurb tablets are starting to hit the $200 mark.

I mostly just use mine to read comics, surf the web, and present my lecture notes while I'm teaching. For these uses, I think the TP is pretty perfect.

I've done some of that stuff on mine, but after trying to do those same things on a nexus 7, it's ridiculous just how bogged down the TouchPad is. You do lose 3" on the screen, buy if you're looking for something cheap to do that job the Nexus 7 will do it way better.

I even tried to use the Touchpad as just a XBMC remote, and it was terrible at that compared to a N7. The big advantage the Touchpad has for me in that regard is that I have the touchstone charger for it, so I can put it on the stand and not have to bother with plugging anything in.

This is exactly the kind of thing that I am envisioning -- a remote control. I've got two Harmony 880 controls and one is starting to have issues, so I was considering replacing them with IP to IR modules and using the Touchpad with Android to function as the main remote. Our other tablets, phones, etc could also have the software but I would permanently place the Touchpad in the home theater area.

Honestly, if suggest ditching the Touchpad and getting a Galaxy Tab 2. It will perform better and has a built in IR blaster that comes with Peel so it can replace your remote. It's an OMAP 4430, so it will be a bit faster than the Snapdragon S3 in the TouchPad. I'm considering going that route if I decide to go XBMC. If like to see if Samsung is going to release a 2013 version of the 7" form factor though. They seem perfectly happy to milk the tab 2 for all it's worth though.

But I'd be fine plugging a cable in. I'll waste more time trying to use the Toichpad every night than I will plugging it in to recharge every few days.
