Great Find does Anand know this? They did an article recently and stated the performance problems were software related but I dont recall they turned off all the logging. According to the article turning all this off makes it as fast as any other tablet on the market. Im feeling better about my purchase every hour.

I can't believe how so many big etailers are down this weekend just because of a single fire sale. Did they ever heard of scalability and cloud computing? No wonder Anonymous finds it so easy to DDoS them.

I wonder what it would take anymore to bog down Amazon's site to the point of unusability. I remember there being some Anonymous DDoS attack on them in the past year or so, but that it failed simply because Amazon has so much network capacity.

Lots of e-tailers probably follow the same sort of building practices that many other organizations and industries follow - if something's not likely to occur in the first place, then simply don't prepare for it at all.

Yeah I found 4 on CL in Tulsa all over 200+ for 16gb 300+ for 32gb. Hell they werent all that much higher before the blowout.

I gotta 32gb ordered thru samsclub.com for me which has been confirmed and charged already so it looks like a done deal. Just waiting for tracking info

I ordered 2 x 16gb's thru onSale today as you gotta get'm while there hot. Figure'd I might need them later for the kids possibly. Not a 100&#37; done deal but order was confirmed and CC was hit for the charge so it looks like it'll go thru most likely. Onsale going out of stock did make me feel better about the order!

I did play around with one of these at launch at samsclub and did like the look and feel of it. Sitting next to the ipad2 carrying the same price tag it seemed overpriced tho. At these firesale prices I can live with the out of box experience after a little tweaking. If it get's hacked later then it's gonna be more value for the little money that it's costing....Without a doubt it's gonna be the best bang for buck tablet for a long time.

Ugh, been trying to get in on one the past couple of days. The MINUTE I go out for a bit, they become available again and are of course sold out now that I am back home! Figures damnit. It depends on the overclock kernel you download. Some have a screenstate that turns down the speed when the screen goes off. One kernel has multiple (Warthog I think) clock settings. I keep mine running at 1.5GHz. WebOS Internals also has instructions on getting linux running, so you can use just about any application that runs on linux if you want to install that. The fine folks at webOS internals do any amazing job over there and any donations or purchasing the Preware documentation in the HP app catalog for a buck helps their cause.

She said that I was OK to purchase it and if the price dropped it would be credited to me though, and that if it didn't I could return it for a 100&#37; refund which sounded strange. Considering that their inventory dropped by only 2 units (from 7116 to 7118) in the last 4 hours, I am sure there will be many disappointed customers tomorrow (me included). Oh well, just another place that I let collect my contact info and CC number.
