HP small business order isn't going to ship even though I had it in via phone on SAT.
Going to bestbuy 40 minutes before they open tomorrow on the slim chance. Wife got excited when I ordered on saturday, and what honey wants, honey gets.
You can check online to see if it has stock. Arriving 40 minutes before opening, however, won't get it done.

Here's my little story.
This past Tuesday night I was scanning Best Buy's website looking for some indication more TouchPads would become available. I had installed an Extension in Firefox called Update Scanner to notify me when any changes occurred on selected web pages. I installed it for the hp pages displaying the TPs as OOS. I decided to automate a scan for the Best Buy pages as well.
As BB's IT folks modified the TP's pages I got frequent alarms and watched as the pages were being built. Quite by accident they momentarily displayed current stock availability at three of the BB stores surrounding Minneapolis. I had drawn up plans to hop from one BB to the next but now I would go only to the one of those three stores that was reasonably near.
Because all this effort had kept me up until 2:30 am I overslept and instead of getting there at 7:15 am as I had planned I arrived at about 10:15 am. There was already a line formed and very soon a manager came out and went from the front of the line back handing out sheets of paper for the lucky first 30. I must have been 35 and like the rest who had missed out I headed for my car.
Just then I stopped and returned and took the #1 loser spot. Soon others came and got behind me. Most of those left as they were shown the winning papers. A woman, #28, asked me why I was staying. I didn't feel like burning gas in futility if there were only 3 BBs with stock, but I said, "Sometimes things happen. Maybe someone's credit card will balk, maybe someone would change their mind. Who knows."
Minutes later a manager approached #s 27 and 28 and explained that BB would need to be strick about allowing only 1 TP per group. Apparently, they were husband and wife and they had asked that question earlier. Upon hearing the bad news the wife turned to the line beyond the lucky 30 and offered it to me because I had stayed where the others had left. Those behind me came after the tickets had been distributed.
I thanked her several times and did so compassionately as I looked into her sad eyes. They looked like they were in their fifties and were out buying for their college aged children. She said it was ok-- that they had other possibilities to explore.
Nice people.
Not everything reduces down to bucks. Yes, I know we were all there for the saving of bucks, but it soon became something bigger.just spend 700 bucks on an ipad. Why waste so much time and effort?

Suddenly, just like the Applites we started to become a community based on a common hope. Applites joined together because of all the bad news in the world, of technology failing us, of someone in America finally getting it right as demonstrated by the hoards of the faithful, the believers rushing to the Mecca that Apple became.
But the TouchPad instead stirred the fondness Americans have to root for the underdog. Even beyond that the TouchPad became the abandoned child of an indifferent mega corporation, one that seemed to be capable of a buying spree of over one billion dollars for the underappreciated webOS and then abandoning it like a petulant child grown bored with its toy.
This fledgling mob of techie/bargain hunters could evolve into a group of adopters and devotees lovingly breathing vigorous new life into an object of rebirth after having been given up on.
You know, now, if ever, would be the time for HP to reconsider their webos decision. The fact that they sold out so quickly should indicate that there is a lot of demand at the right price. The should also see this as some good marketing as their product now has a chance to speak for itself.
He has to be there early to beat the 3am crew.

What does an ipad have that the average user would use regularly that this doesn't have? Serious question; I've never used an ipad and this is my first tablet. I think tablets are a waste for the most part, unless you travel a lot and don't need the power of a laptop, but maybe there's something I'm missing
