What are you guys' order numbers?

I see most numbers through 30598XXX have shipped. I'm 30617XXX so I'm wondering if anyone has a shipped 306XXXXX number yet.

still no charge on my CC

What's the point of putting GB on the touchpad over WebOS? Honeycomb I can understand; but that shouldn't be possible since the source hasn't been released.

03054#### - 1 - 16GB unit. Ordered on 8/20/11 but didn't show up until 8/21/11 at around 4 am (or so).

For 20 minutes of my time and not one cent more, I now have a tablet that will play Netflix, control my Onkyo receiver, run Dolphin HD browser, and a whole host of free games that run perfectly.

We can't assume that CM7 or any other android mod will eventually be bug free on the Touchpad, but I'm telling you if this alpha version of 7.1 never gets ANY better, it will have increased the value of my touchpad tremendously.

Running CM7 on my touchpad, I don't think its buggy at all. It dual-boots with WebOS; all I lost is 1GB of my 32GB NAND. Other than that what do you have to lose...I haven't read a single story about a brick.

Is there a link with a guide you can provide? (I'm sure I could google it, but I'm being lazy)

The "I'm being lazy" argument is not likely, in my estimation, to motivate helpful responses as it would take just as much time to Google as it did for your post.

got my shipping notice for my touchpad ^__^

...but no charge on my credit card....

Is webOS truly that unstable/buggy? I intend for this tablet to be nothing more than a mobile web browser / video player. Is webOS going to fail me in those simple tasks?

i thought the big problem was that HP spent not a dime on performance optimization so it's slow.

I'm like you, mostly using the browser or watching some vids. It has never crashed on me yet. With the just released 3.0.4 update, the browser is much faster. For video, the native format is H.264. If you don't want to be bothered converting formats, there is KalemSoft Media Player in the App store ($6.99) that can handle different formats.

No, it's not that buggy. It works well as a video and web browser. Me and the gf like it for browsing on the couch when the laptop is too bulky. The new update is nice.

It is great for these tasks and with yesterday's update, the tablet is a lot faster and probably won't require as much tweaking going forward.

Yay, Touchpad is here.
Yay.

Aaaand....it needs a wireless network to get set up, and it can't get past my wireless network's various security measures. Open network, and it's online.
Now to figure out how to get this thing to see a closed-SSID and encrypted network. The WiFi network settings window is really really sparse. Thus far, it's unable to sign into my network.

Edit: Ok, I'm done futzing with WebOS. Android is next.

update it?
Just gave that a shot.

That seems to have allowed it to access a closed-SSID network, but it still can't do anything when it's using WPA2 encryption. Enter password, wait a bit...unable to access.
Oh well, no more time tonight. :\

Now if only the touchscreen interface on my Windows 7 tablet was so responsive and usable.
(The Touchpad feels like a cheap toy compared to my EP121.)

Yeah, looks like it can't tolerate AES encryption - had to set it to TKIP.
(Yeah.....still messing with WebOS. I saw that there was an update for the operating system.)

Built-in web browser: Dear god, there are ads on the Internet now.
Even on Youtube.
Ewww.

Built-in speakers: Quite a good bit of volume out of this thing.

Built-in Skype.

Network: Don't know if I can access Windows shares with this tablet.

USB: None of them. The only ports on this are for a headphone and for the USB charger.....ooooo, the PC can see it. Sort of. It looks like it can be made to act as an enormous USB drive. Huh.
Wonder if it can play FLAC. (Yes, it does support FLAC.)
It complains a lot, too. "OWWW! That hurts! Next time, please unmount the drive from the desktop." I get that even if I use the Safely Remove Hardware thing. Oh well.

Oh, so I guess I was only done with WebOS for the night - last night. More fiddling for now.

Then Android.

Mine works just fine with WPA2-PSK AES, even tested both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Using a Netgear WNDR3700.
Huh....don't know what was going on here. It wasn't able to sign into the network with AES. TKIP - bam, right in, no problem.

Motorola WR850G.

And it looks like I've got to do some research on how to install or use apps. All I get is "Cannot open MIME type" when I try to download and open one.:\
