Just a heads up, the laptop that we ordered with SKU 492604 is no longer listed on staples website as an option to purchase. Item 494173 is available for nextday delivery and now qualifies for the 300 dollar off coupon - whereas previously the 300 dollar off coupon wasn't available.

I hope it won't alter the availability of the laptops.

I think I may have found a phone number at HP to call about the status of BTO orders but need to confirm it first before posting it.

Well, I gave in and ordered the 1500T for my parents. They are thrilled at the price already - but I was hoping to get it cheaper. The Staples I went to hadn't heard of the shipping fee being waived if you came into the store. Is there something on the web-site or the flywers that indicates if you go to the BTO station they will waive the shipping? I'd like to have something that I can print out and bring to them and see if I can get a credit.

I was also charged tax, which I was expecting purchasing at the B&M store. If I had purchased on-line - would I still have paid tax??

As far as the shipping, it depends on where you go to. There is no flyer that says you get free shipping if you order it at the B&M. My excuse when I bought it was I said it'll be delivered to the Staples so why should I pay for shipping if I wanted the product to be sent to the Staples. He finally gave it to me. The other Staples that I went to didn't give it to me. so it depends.

About tax, you can't avoid this at all cause I think Staples has business all around the US. Unless you live in Oregon like RossMAN, I think you can get 0 TAX LOL

Rossman, how about the pre-configured laptops. Do you have a number to call them as well. I screwed up on the shipping address and now it is going somewhere else. Staples could not change it anymore.

He's telling the truth. So far I've called around 12 different phone numbers, 2 of them weren't even toll free (my cell phone comes with free long distance within the USA) ... so far NO ONE has a clue where you call to get the current status. Even tried calling HPShopping.com, HP headquarters and Staples.com

Check your credit card statements, because I was charged more than what the receipt said. Staples charged me 857 rather than 828. If they did 7.75% after coupons, it would come out to 828. I called them and they said that they charge tax before the coupon.

In California, retailers are not allowed to charge tax before retailer coupons.

California Sales Tax Law with Coupons

Retailer coupons are not taxable in California. Vendors in California must apply taxes after they deduct the retailer coupons. Most retailers do not know the laws, so these legal pdf's always come in handy. In my experience, most retailers dont know anything about any federal business laws. I doubt they know about their local rules and regulations.

I just checked my on-line status for my 1500T order and take a look:

They took off the $50 in-store cupon along with the $30 off cupon!! Can they do this? I signed my credit card receipt for $1178.72 and nothing more. Any ideas what my options are here?!? Has this happened to anybody else?

Well it looks like they charged me the wrong tax too. I called them and they said they couldn't do anything about it.

I guess I have to do something about it....Since my card was charged twice..once for the laptop minus all 3 coupons and once again for $42.xx for the luggage set, I'll just take the luggage set back to a store and get the $42.xx put back on my card.

Thus making it an even better deal.

Total charged after I return the luggage $792.20

-$100 MIR
-$100 MIR

= TOTAL $592.20

staples charged me tax before coupons also. The confirmation email they sent showed a tax after coupons. Is that legal? Maybe we can dispute with our credit card companies.

They didn't show my $50 off and $30 off coupon also. I signed a charge around $1178 and i'm not going to pay anything more. They didn't charge me the $75 shipping fee but that fee shows up on order status. There is a temporary charge on my credit account for the amount I signed. I will dispute any extra charges.

True but since they technically shipped the laptop first they applied all 3 coupons to that and charged my credit card $792.20. Yesterday when they shipped my luggage they charged my credit card again the $39.99 plus tax. The 2 charges are fine (since they shipped on different days) it's just that they refuse to charge me the correct sales tax so they can eat it another way.

I think you can still get the $300 off, $50 off, $75 FREE SHIPPING, FREE LUGGAGE, $100 Compaq MIR, FREE WIFI but there's a catch ... you gotta successfully place an order at Staples B&M using their kiosk, not order online. Hi guys I order this on Saturday and I tried to check my order status on the Staples website but I keep on getting

Whats going on here? I know I am typing the right stuff. I called CS and was told that it takes time for it to register on their computers. I dunno if thats true or not, thus I am asking for your help
