Jumped on this deal late Friday afternoon. Just got off the phone with a staples representative and it looks like my order was put on hold. They say that I cannot apply all three coupons for this order. The $300 off is for a purchase of $1099, and the $30 off is for a purchase of $150. She said that in order to use all three, I'd have to have a subtotal of $1249 to stack the coupons. The same goes true for the luggage. I have to spend an extra $100 to get the luggage for free. Forgot to ask about the MIR's, so I'm on hold again right now.

Okay,

Just got off the phone with "Gabby" at the Staples Rebate Center (dunno if I can post their number). Anyways, she told me that if I DO make the purchase today, the packing slip will be processed for October 1st, seeing as today is the first. Then when we apply for the $100 rebate from staples, the system will automatically reject the application and send you an e-mail or postcard. If you made the purchase on the 28th or before, you can include a note explaining how your order was delayed as well as evidence of such an order (I have a printout of my order as evidence). The customer service will then look at this information and determine whether you qualify for the rebate or not. I was tyring to get a straight answer out of her on whether I could get the rebate or not, but I don't think she wanted to get in trouble by saying, "yes." Though she said that Customer Service will "work hard to ensure the customer is happy." Gonna go for it. Seeing as you only loose $30 and some change:

I ordered on 9/28 and mine says shipped (by staples courier ????) and it says it will not arrive until the 18th anybody else dealing with the same and/or know why.

By the way, has anybody found out where the supposed $28 256MB memory is to be found? Any idea how bad the savage is for games? Even though I will be using it for surfing primarily I am curious.

Guys who order Compaq. look at RossMAN's post on the Compaq's phone number. You can get the date when you can get it.



Mine says on the 18th but when I call compaq, they said I should get it on the 7th. So call compaq. Don't go with the staples order status. it's just an estimation only.

about people who got their $50 coupon off, did you order it at the B&M? I doubt they can do that if you bought it at the B&M. I check my card and they card me with the same amount that I paid when I went there. You can always dispute the charge with your cc company since you have a legit receipt.

No body misses the deal until 10 days are passed. Staples rebate center again and agin verified that they will give the 10 day grace period as long as you do your stuff online and by mail before rebate dead line. So I just bought it today. I am 99% confident I can get the Rebate. I will fight.. Cry... Scream... for the other 1% if they dont honor the grace period.

kingston ram usually has a high compatibility rate so i don't imagine it being a problem

Thanks for the Kingston link, but looking at the long list I wasn't sure which stick was the right one so I went back to the Kingston home page and did a search for compatible RAM for the HP ze1201. When I did this last night I could swear the ze1201 wasn't listed, just the ze1210/1230/1250 models, but tonight the ze1201 is listed separately. Anyway, when I select that it shows three sizes of compatible RAM (128/256/512MB) available, but the prices are $40/69/272. Is that $27 256MB RAM for the Compaq by any chance?

Hey, just a suggestion for those interested in the 1500T. I ordered one from B&M Staples with all the coupons and on-line printout coupon in hand.

1500T, 15", DVD, and 20GB, 256MB online printout was $1358 + $75 shipping = 1433.00
$1433.00 - $300 coupon 1 and -$30.00 coupon 2 = $1103.00. I passed the offer on luggage as it is a skimpy black handbag worth about $5.00. This causes more problem for return if you have problems w/ laptop as Staples charges invoice separately.

I went to Staples and asked to waive the shipping fee and the manager offered extended warranty which I declined. He said "I will fix the price so as to stay around online printout with 2 yr extended warranty." I could not pass on the extended warranty at that point. So, he price matched certain components of laptop and the number came out a little over $1000.00. Then I presented the $50.00 coupon to him which he hesitantly added along with his special code. This latter $50.00 coupon will not work when you do it yourself online. The total, including tax for Californians, is $1073.46. I ordered this on 9/27/02 so therefore qualify for Staples $100.00 rebate and $100.00 for HP rebate.

TOTAL COST including 2 yr warranty is $877.46. What a deal!

what you found were not kingston's RAM. actually, kingston's site can search different brands. and what you found was, i guess, HP's RAM. i don't know which company produced it but it comes with HP laptops. that's why it's so expensive.

Yeah, I searched for ram for a VAIO FXA47 the other day. It takes regular SOdimms, but of course, the kingston site wanted $90 for em. Kingston wanted $29 for their regular pc133 sodimms.

For $50, I think it's worth a shot.

Once you receive your laptop, make sure they charged tax after coupons.
Dont bother calling until you receive your laptop, or it may never come.

These states do not allow sales tax on retailer coupons or coupon matching for other retailers. The tax needs to be applied after discount, not before. Some states do not even allow the taxation of manufacturer coupons. ie. Wisconsin and Connecticut.

I spoke to the manager about the free shipping, and asked about having it waived. He said it was against store policy (!) I said, OK thanks and started leaving (with printouts in hand) - he asked if it was a deal breaker - I said "Yes", so he said I'll make a call, disappeared for 30 seconds and came back, escorted me to a checkout and told the assistant to waive shipping. I nervously handed over the $50 printed coupon which he watched the assistant enter, and I walked out with my $380 is coupon discounts plus free shipping.
