Anyone found a sale tax guide in Pennsylvania?

OK, at 4am the ze1201 finially shipped - about time. Also, does anyone know if these laptops qualify as "built to order" from HP? As there are two 100 dollar off rebates for "built to order" systems from HP.

I'd be interested to see what your on-line status is from Staples. I did the same thing on Monday - still worked. But when I got the confirmation e-mail, all but the $300 cupon had been removed. I don't plan on complaining until I have the laptop in hand - I don't want my order canceled. That said, I called the 800 number (Thanks RossMan!) and it should be here on the 9th!

How do we get a UPS tracking number? Both my luggage and laptop say UPS and it's shipped but no tracking number.

BTW, they charged me tax before the coupons too, so I will have to call them AFTER I get the laptop.

The Luggage was removed from my order since its OOS, but they kept the -$39.99 Luggage Coupon.
Yes Staples charged me tax before the coupons. Even the order confirmation email shows the tax is calculated after deductions.

Will definitely ask for refund *after* receiving the laptop
Edit: File a dispute to your CC company, saying Staples overcharged you tax and ask for refund of the difference. Refuse to pay the extra portion.

I got the same configuration as you I believe:

Mobile Celeron w/256mb ram, 20gb hd, upgraded battery.

It definitely does have a firewire port. I'll try to charge up the battery and see how long it can last playing a dvd. I'll get back to you guys with a small review later tonight.

One more note: when I called compaq a few days ago for my shipping date, they told me 10/05. So you may also get the laptop earlier than expected. They shipped my laptop 2 day air from Houston, TX.

I didn't bother with the TV or luggage - don't need it and noone I know would want it anyway.

I haven't received a confirmation, but I bought it in store, and they ran thru an old style carbonized credit card voucher.
UPDATE: I HAVE received a confirmation, but I forgot about it. I checked it over, and it has the coupons as per my entry into the online system in the store. i.e. It has $300 coupon and $30 coupon, plus $75 shipping. When it was rung up at the register I got an additional $50 paper coupon taken off and the shipping waived.

Skaven, I don't know how yours was processed, but it is possible that you are seeing a mismatch between the online system and what is rung up at the register, which I am confident is the amount that will be finally charged.

My credit card was charged yesterday and it shows shipped status. I got the luggage today, not bad. It shows the ETA for 10/17 for the laptop.

I was not charged for shipping.

The Compaq rebate from staples was vailid until 10/12/02. Compaq also has NON-Stackable rebates on their website for the 1500T. Link to compaq rebate expiring 10/12/02 Staples rebate valid until 10/12/02

It DOES have firewire and USB 2.0

so no more confusion here LOL




Mine is P4 2.0

the battery life is way much better than I expected. It ran 1.45 min with dvd and around 2.30 without running dvd

I wish I chose the longer battery but I didn not

can I still exchange the battery with compaq? I hate to buy a new battery for this....


other than that, I am very satisfied with it

My credit card finally got dinged today. They charged me the exact amount $1178.72 that I signed for at the B&M store. As long as I get the laptop and they don't charge me any extra - I'll be happy!

As far as the rebates go, how are you guys submitting them? Don't they want the Original Receipt and UPC? Are you just sending copies?

So far it seems to be a great deal!
