dunno if i'd call #3 flagrant. it's not unreasonable to think he was going for a shot, not a fake.

#4 - i hate assholes like that

#5 - there's a large difference between throwing your hand up to block a shot and having it out with enough resistance to knock someone off course like that.

#6 - just a plain old foul. nothing to really rage about here.

4 and 5 were the only flagrant fouls I could see. 1-2-3 were him arguably going for the ball as well as 6.

Overreact much? This whole story is a non issue.

Yeah this, plus he makes no move to go towards and wrap up the player which is what most players do when just trying to grab and do an intentional.

KT

but he's a stupid fat kid who doesn't know how to play basketball

humble, idk what you're talking about with where he's looking and his expression. come on now. I don't see anything that indicates he was going for his face. the kid passed his quickly fatty obviously isn't coordinated enough to make sure he was going for the ball. he stuck is arm out and the other kid wrapped himself around and it turned into a dangerous play. go watch some flagrant foul videos and see what malicious intent is. there isn't any here

No fatty stuck his arm out in the lane at the kids heads height as the kid started making his move to the bucket. The kid going in for the basket is a good 5 steps away from Mr Fatty while Mr Fatty has his arm ready to deliver the clothesline. Mr fatty NEVER moves his head or eyes to the ball, just the kid. As the kid jumps he moves his hand slightly to put it directly in the kids face but the kid is moving fast enough it never gets there as the kid also sees it coming and tries to dodge his head away in time. Once the contact occur Mr fatty is spinning around with a grin on his face that doesn't come off even when the kid is taking his free throw. That was flagrant and malicious.

No it wasn't a closed fist punch to the face or a kick to the groin which I've also seen. Just because those are worse flagrant fouls doesn't make his foul any less flagrant.

I don't know what video you're watching but I don't care enough to defend the obvious

theres no clothesline!! my god people. it was an intentional foul, yes. he reaches for the ball, which was moving. he's obviously not very coordinated so he just sticks his fat arm out. the other smaller kid jumps. the fat kid isn't aiming for the kids head...physics takes care of the rest. go watch some videos where basketball players get flipped like that. it doesn't take much contact...

it's all terrible basketball though and shouldn't really happen anyway. but it's blown way out of proportion

edit: there's a difference between stupid/dangerous and malicious. I don't see those plays as malicious

Is #34 your son/relative or something? Either you're ignorant or stupid. Take your pick.

The best part is when after the #5 foul, #34 is subbed out of the game for an equally chunky guy of the same height.

only 4and5 actually look to be intentional, maybe 6, but it doesn't really look like it tome.

1: he wasn't going for the ball and swatted.
2) foul. the kid does not know what he is doing
3) watch it. he does not go for the ball and open punches down.
4) he pushes the player. yeah flagrant but nothing major.
5) he should have been thrown out. a Technical at the least. he grabbed the guy around (looks like) the neck. he was not going for the ball at all.
6) he goes over the back and then pushes down on the guy

all but 5 are marks of a really bad player. 5 was intentional trying to hurt the guy.

this is a kid who is only on the floor for one reason and that's to do what he was doing. he has little skills in blocking, guarding and defense. But he is big and willing to smack people without fear or one of them knocking his ass on the ground.

nasty playing by a nasty coach and player.

I watched that earlier today and while he clearly has zero talent and fouled hard, I didn't see all the flagrant stuff. #5 was rough, because cleary that was a dirty foul, but to make a video and whine about the hard fouls is kinda childish.

I saw this earlier; it's absolutely disgraceful behavior.

Some are saying these are "only fouls", even the clear clothesline? Did any of you ever play organized ball?

I guess the world didn't rerally need more proof that a person is going to see what they want to see, no matter what the clear truth is.

The only thing I blame the other team for is not having a player confront that ogre after a few of those fouls.

to the people who don't see it, have you ever played basketball. You have to look at the body of work. If Tim Duncan does this once you give him a pass the first time around. Most of those are really bad with #5 making a real case for bench brawl if you take in consideration all the previous stuff. If #5 was the only one it's bad but it's way way over the line considering the previous stuff.

News flash. Basketball is NOT a no-contact sport. Having said that, those players doing the fouling are talentless hacks. I blame coaching. One of my players did that I would yank his ass out of the game and toss him myself.

They are FOULS, playing a SPORT. Everyone needs to get over themselves.

I'm sure someone here will take up the mantle and defend your entirely reasonable position. Number 5 was clearly an accident, you can tell by the way he apologetically helped the kid up afterward.

I thought number 3 looked pretty bad too. You could say he thought the ball was going to be there, but he doesn't even start moving his arm forward until the opposing player brought the ball down. I don't think you can say he was just unable to stop his movement; looked to me like he took advantage of the opportunity to throw his elbow into a kid's face. At least number 12 showed some decency and reached down to help the victim up.

One thing some of you might not be remembering is that you are watching ONE GAME. The person who taped this did so because he is trying to show this is an ongoing problem and is doing this in other games.

You can sit around and argue that he "just doesn't know the game" or he's "too fat and can't play", but he is putting other players in danger with his "lack of skills" or his downright bullying on the court. The league should certainly look into this and keep an eye on it. If he can't play, his coach needs to take responsibility and not freaking play him until he knows the fundamentals of basketball.

no shit they are fouls, and the refs called them all, but some of them should have been called FLAGRANT fouls. apparently you don't know wtf that means.

It's blantantly obvious that #34 is out there to just knock players down. He's not even trying to play within the rules (or worried about possibly injuring other players). His coach should have immediately benched him (and his partner) as soon as his "play" showed such callous disregard for the safety of the other players.

Whether or not their actions technically qualify as "flagrant" fouls is hardly the point. This is high school basketball, not mixed martial arts. No one should be out on the floor trying to take another player's head off.

This is one guy who has earned the reputation he now has as a result of this video going viral.

All were fouls and were called. 5 was flagrant. Not sure what all the ruckus is about.
