No wonder HTC will go out of business.

lol....

Do you think the mass majority of people will go in to buy a phone and see this "wasted space" and say "My god I'm not getting this phone."

This is still an incredibly nice looking phone.

People here need to remember People like us are 1% of the market.

Marketing and word of mouth Sells these phones to the other 99% of people. Unfortunately HTC just doesn't have the funds to compete in this regard against Samsung, Apple and even LG.

Apparently the majority of people are finding some reason to not buy HTC phones.

And HTC does depend on word of mouth and a lot of regular people look to us geeky 1% for suggestions.

Everyone has the Internet, I don't think regular people are as stupid as some of us think they are.

The mass majority of people have decided against HTC in general

i pimp HTC whenever possible at work & to friends.

I convinced a co worker to upgrade from a Note 1 to a HTC One about a week before I bought mine.

I'll say this for certain though, it'll be hard to go any phone with rear facing speakers after owning the One.

Apple and Samsung have done a good job of cementing a brand name and sticking with it. This makes it immensely easier for fans to follow generational device releases. HTC needs to come up with a single name and stick with it to not confuse people. And they also need to get their phones on all the carriers around the same time.

I haven't yet bought an HTC product, but I've always admired them. I hope they recover and thrive, because I'm certainly not against them.

Have you owned the HTC One? (or HTC One X, One X+ or One S)

I do not currently, but did before. It was one nice phone and anybody who saw it pretty much thought the game.

Not arguing, just saying we are probably a tad more picky then most

It's not like HTC is giving us absolute crap. They are very competitive in Product. I'd much rather have Sense then Touchwiz. I will admit HTC really dropped the ball on updating the One X and One S line.

I think there Product Naming Scheme is due for a serious overhaul more than anything.

It was a nice looking phone. And oh my god how I so want a phone with good front facing speakers, I'd love that. This is is probably the reason I pick on the HTC One and One 2 so much, because I so want to love this phone.

The HTC One put the HTC logo in the middle of it's capacitive buttons instead of where the Home button should be, and removed the multitask button, and moved the home button off to the side.

These are small problems, but I don't think HTC has the luxury to allow for these small screw ups. Especially when it doesn't seem necessary.

There seems to be some confusion on this thread. I'm guessing some of you don't follow Evleaks on Twitter.

The M8 will have a 5" screen and a SD card slot along with a 13 MP camera.

The comments from numerous sites regarding these leaks seems to be really focusing on that bottom bezel. I don't know. I don't think it's a huge deal. Sure it would be better without it but HTC really wanted to put their logo on the front and clearly the M8 was going to be an altered M7.

My real question here is if Sense 6 will feature a tap to wake feature. Because reaching up and to the right to wake this phone is going to be a nightmare IMO.

My understanding is that they decided not to update the One X due to the Tegra 3 versions of it, and the One X+ being Tegra 3 because Nvidia dropped support for it. Its a shitty deal, but if Nvidia didn't make the drivers, theres only so much HTC can do.

So are they scrapping the 'UltraPixel' thing then?

It matters to a lot of people because having a black bar with nothing by an HTC logo on it is not only ugly, its a complete waste of space. Look at several of the Verizon Motorola Droid models, with the chin, Verizon logo, and on screen buttons, the bottom of the phone has a good inch of bezel.

My real question here is if Sense 6 will feature a tap to wake feature. Because reaching up and to the right to wake this phone is going to be a nightmare IMO.

Moving the power button to the proper place on the side above the volume rockers would resolve that.

The Dual Camera's on the back are interesting.... What's this all about?

Like dual cores made Android snappy in 2011, I think this is another time when hardware is being thrown at a software problem.

Android can't focus and snap a picture as fast/as well as iOS can? Well just keep the stereoscopic data too and you can just snap when you want then refocus in your spare time!

? The HTC One's camera was plenty fast, no shutter lag to speak of.

I don't think it is that at all. I think it is HTC trying something new just like when they released the Evo 3D... However, it might not be a gimmicky feature, but the jury is still out on that. I'm kind of getting more excited for the HTC One (2) in comparison to Samsung's new S5. The on-screen buttons make it fantastic to me. We'll see what happens come March though!

Due to my job, I usually have 2 phones at any given time. I have owned various iPhones (3 to current), Samsung Galaxy 1, 2, & 3, HTC One-S, HTC One, Nexus 4, Nexus plus an assortment of blackberries.

No phone has gotten the comments that the One has. Even last year when my One arrived in the same week that two new S4's showed up - everyone wanted to look at and touch the One.

I interface with a number of high tech, high disposable income people, and while everyone admired the One - mine is the only one I've seen in the wild. I don't get it.

Most people dont buy phones as ornaments to impress others?

I like the looks of the One (well most of them) but there was just too much that I found flawed about it for me to buy one. Maybe your "high tech, high disposable income" felt the same way?

Not everyone is obsessed about how their phone looks over how it works.

Well given the fact that most people refer to Android phones as "Galaxy" I think Samsung dominated the word of mouth factor.
