Ultrapixel is dead.

It was a fun experiment, but the iPhone still has the best camera followed closely by LG/Samsung.

Highly debatable. Owning a note 4 and messing with an iphone 6+ it's almost neck and neck with the Note 4 edging over the 6.

Are you comparing them on the same screen (ie: reviewing them on a PC or something)? IMO the Note 4 screen is so good it makes any picture look awesome, so if you're looking at iPhone pics on the iPhone screen vs. Note pics on the Note screen then it's not really comparing cameras... you're also comparing screens.

I'm mainly just curious. My pictures from my Note 4 look great, but I rarely view them outside of my phone so I don't know how much is the screen and how much is the camera.

They may have moved the "Ultra Pixel" camera to the front. I personally do not care much about camera performances because pictures that are taken from mid-to-high range smartphones all look good enough to me.

Good enough, in one sense, of course. None matches real cameras. Especially noticeable to me is the lack of spacial depth on pictures taken by smartphones, making every scenery and object look flat.

Haha. I remember my friends wondering why his pictures only look good on his Note 3.

On 2 24" PC screens. I never rely on the phones screens.

As long as it has an unlocked bootloader, I'm in for the HTC. That's the one thing that has turned me off from Samsung phones.

Wow, are they really going with the ugly asymmetric chunky bottom bezel again? What is it with HTC (and Moto) not understanding that asymmetric design (when the phone is landscape) just looks bad. It's like buying a TV that has the screen shifted more to one side.

Out of all the Android phones I've had... the HTC ONE M8 has been the nicest one out of all of them. When focused, the design of the phone may look rather asymmetrical but in actuality you don't even notice if you're not looking for it. Hands down best Android phone I've used except for battery life... which is just okay.

That is my only issue with the M7. Poor battery.. best Android phone I've had though.

Turn the phone sideways to watch some video (and take advantage of the good speakers) and you immediately notice it. It's the one major flaw of the device IMHO, and it keeps me from buying one. I watch a lot of video on my phones so symmetric design especially in landscape is important.

My LG G2 went caput and I'm rocking a cheap Nokia Lumia 520. After playing with Windows for the last 24 hours I'm kinda liking the OS. Refreshing coming off Android and iOS. I'm due for an upgrade next month but I may just wait to see if HTC will have a windows version later this year. Or, I could try out a Samsung again but I'm hesitant.

My M7 lasts 3-4 days but I use it maybe an hour or two each day and I don't have background connections on for anything.

I'm lucky to get through 10 hours without having to recharge. That's just browsing here and there, some gaming and music. Use Greenify as well.

Yep. It's a friendly reminder that you shouldn't rush to embrace leaks simply because they look vaguely plausible or tell you what you want to hear (see all the "Samsung is cleaning up TouchWiz!" rumors). Things are bad enough with lousy Photoshop jobs and rumors that rely on little more than "sources familiar with the matter" -- it gets worse when you know that HTC, Samsung and others use dummy cases and fake shots to throw you off the scent.

At this point, you're probably best off waiting for HTC's March event to get the full skinny.

Might as well consider opening it up and replacing the battery. I've had my phone since April 2013 and I always charge to 100%, and drain it at least to 20% before recharging...battery life seems to be close to what it was when I got it.

I REALLY like this M7. Looks nicer than the M8 IMO and is more compact. Only thing I don't like is the camera quality could be better. Definitely looking forward to the M9...could be my next phone as long as it stays fairly close to the size of the M7.

To put it in proper One Series perspective, it's the HTC Fake One. It's a purpose built decoy.

I read the article saying the "decoy" One is an actual product, just not the M9. (?)

Many around me will be due for upgrade this spring. It will be interesting to see what they are going to choose but I will make sure they take a look at the M9. I am guessing that for many the choice will be between the M9, the S6, and the iPhone 6. I feel like the M9 will be better positioned this time around than 2 years ago when the S4 was the hottest thing.
