I don't understand the mSD card argument. If the photos and videos are so important, then you definitely want to store them internally and upload via the cloud/wifi.
If I were traveling with my baby and had to switch mSD card on the go, there is a much higher chance of losing that mSD card. I can think of so many instances...
I definitely prefer to use internal storage.
I don't switch to my mSD, it's always in my phone. Instead of taking up the more limited internal storage, I have 64GB of space set aside for media and pictures and video. Without that mSD I have to spend a lot more money buying a 64GB+ phone, and that's still less space overall than 16GB+64GB.

The Verge has horrible reviews. They gave the HTC One an 8 for camera yet they gave the Nexus 4 an 8 for camera too... really?

I burned through 6 or 7 SD cards in my SGS2 during the time I owned it. Wouldn't matter which type of SD card it is.. it'd just stop working after a few months. Was really frustrating and after using the One, I don't mind not having the SD card. I did get the 64GB version though..

Ever think you might have had a defective SGS2 unit? There are an enormous number of people using microSD's in their phones without having any problems.
Seriously, do you really think that phones normally destroy your microSD cards? Why would you even post this as if it's a disadvantage?

Off contract is $650, but you might be better off getting the 64GB Developer Edition for the same price, which does come unlocked. I do not know if AT&T will unlock if you ask. My guess would be no if you got it subsidized.

It's strange. I don't know why people would argue AGAINST SD cards when it's not like you're trading off something for it. It only adds to the device and doesn't subtract anything because which 2013 flagship phone doesn't start at 16GB (and topping out at 64GB)?
The performance of mSD and SD is TERRIBLE!!!! The performance of the built in storage is so much better that everything you use, APPS and stuff, you want on internal storage and everything else is on the cloud. With all the cloud storage out there, why wouldn't you rather have most of your pics out there any way.
AT's latest podcast lays into it all very well and why nobody in the tech community cares now about removable storage. I love everything they say on this latest podcast. Good stuff.
