Just picked one up last weekend

I had a LG Optimus LTE before, which I just sold for more than I expected. It was in mint condition though.

My biggest gripe with the Optimus LTE was battery life. It was god awful, worst I ever experienced.

I will say though that I felt the Optimus LTE had the nicest screen available for Android (IPS) up until now....the One X is slightly better. I'd rank the LG and HTC over the Galaxy Nexus for screen quality. (Which I owned before the Optimus LTE but sold it before prices fell)

Well since Im a heavy user, I picked up a HTC One X. Talk about an amazing phone. Unibody design, black on white. Its a sexy phone, and the screen is very impressive. I would rank it higher over the LG's screen, but not by a lot. The LG was a very underrated phone when it came to its screen. (its build quality felt sub-par compared to HTC One X though)

The battery life of my new One X is easily 2x better than the LG phone it replaced and moderately better than the Galaxy Nexus.

Downfalls: No SD cards, no battery replacements.

Hopefully I don't run into battery issues, but since I usually dont keep phones any longer than a year (3 months lately, but ending that), I doubt I'll run into issues.

Definitely recommend the One X.

The lack of expandable storage wouldn't be such a deal killer if the phone at least came with a respectable amount by default, but it doesn't.

I just picked up a HOX a few weeks ago and I have to say, it's leaps and bounds ahead of anything I've used before in terms of quality, battery life, processing power, etc. The Krait S4 really is a fantastic chip.

lack of SD card's the only reason I traded mine for a Galaxy Note. If down the road they release a Two X or something with high end specs and an SD card I'll definitely be all over it. The screen's perfect on it, I really really really miss that, and my Note's screen pretty nice. But it's leagues behind the One X's.

Coming from a 32GB iPhone 4S to the On X it was hard to get over the lack of storage but I can manage now. I just keep my favorite music on it and use Spotify for everything else. I'm still on unlimited so I get 5GBs before I'm throttled (which I never hit even with my daily streaming) and the free 25GBs with Dropbox helps a lot as well. Love the phone.

My thoughts exactly. IMO it kills what should be the best choice for a lot of people. I don't know what they were thinking.

Coming from an iPhone 4, and a Galaxy Nexus prior to that, I can say that the One X is not... bad at all. It runs quite smooth all things considered.

However, the force-refresh and force-close of apps in the background is quite annoying. I'm not sure why Sense 4.0 needs so much memory to stay in the background. In fact, if I just browse the web around a little bit, the phone would have to restart Sense altogether.

Crazy.

If it wasn't for that, I'd say the One X might very well be my main phone. Right now, the multitasking is way too hindered for the phone to be truly useful.

I had a One S for a week. Ended up returning it for reasons entirely not related to the phone itself, mostly just my personal situation and T-Mobile's mediocre coverage.

But yeah. It was a great phone. A really friggin' awesome phone. The internal storage felt a bit constricting at times, even though I don't keep a music collection on my phone. The problem is it's a downgrade in available space from my nearly 2 year old Epic 4G, which has ~600 MB of internal storage and shipped with a 16 GB microSD card. All of the space on that microSD card is available to the user, so like 14.9 GB. On the One S, it's partitioned so that some space is reserved for the system, some is reserved for user apps, and the rest is for storage, which works out to around 10 GB.

I do not swap out microSD cards either. But it is nice to know that, in the case of a catastrophic failure of some sort, I can always pull out my old phone's card and stick it in my computer's card reader and still have access to the data.

Since I don't store music on the phone, the biggest concern is game data. A lot of games these days have downloads ranging from several hundred MB to over a GB. So the number of large games you can have is limited, especially as screen sizes (and thus the size of those data downloads) go up. I think I'd be more comfortable having 32 GB of built-in storage.

Other than that, the multitasking thing almost never bothered me. Sense 4.0 is such a good user interface I actually enjoyed it and didn't feel the need to instantly replace it with stock Android. The phone was unbelievably quick and smooth, and battery life was very good compared to my Epic (good enough that the non-removable battery didn't bother me at all).

I actually find HTC Sense to be the best UI out there.... Ive preferred HTC android phones for a while, they just never competed at the top end well lately.

really sad they didn't give removable storage. With 16gb built in on my SGS2 + 32gb removable, that's 48gb. How can you ask me to downgrade to 16gb? I really love the phone though.

I did. Exact same scenario

Just keep less music on it. Simple for me.

It's funny that I find the One X to take about twice as long to charge up than my iPhone 4.

Probably the bigger battery does it, but... come on.

The camera is nicer than that on the iPhone 4, though. But image stabilization could do with a bit of work. I have to hold the One X extremely still for photoshoot, which defeats the purpose sometimes since I really want to just whip it out and snap.

Well, I tried Splashtop Remote Desktop on the phone today, and... seriously, aside from the keyboard quirk, I think the phone and the app were made for each other!

It runs like a miniature version of my MBP!

Now I am a lot more inclined to keep the HTC One X as my one and only phone!

The ip4 charges noticeably faster than any Android phone I've had.

The phone can be taken apart and replace the battery just like the iPhone.

I keep 0 music on my phone. Recordign 1080p video can take up GBs pretty quickly.

I used to put everything on the internal storage of my SGS2. I definitely need at least 400-500mb worth of ROM space. I keep at least teh current nightly and a few other stable nightlies around. Throw in kernels, gapps, etc, yeah 400-500mb minimum. Each Nandroid backup is about 500mb too. I keep a stock ROM backed up along with maybe another backup. So that's close to 2gb just for ROM stuff.

Given you start out with 11.6GB, that's 9.6GB now. Photos, 1080p video will eat up space really fast.

I was at a concert and I was down to 300mb space only. Thank goodness I just flipped the storage over to SD Card and I had 32gb to go....

I'm not one who puts music on my phone so 16gb was fine on my Nexus S. However, it was a lot bigger of an issue once you throw in HD video recording... so yeah for the HTC One X, I can see this being a huge issue if it was for my SGS2 already...

It's too big for my tastes, but it has a beautiful screen. One of the best I've seen.

You can limit video recording to 720p.

Or alternatively, if LTE wasn't necessary, I'd say... eat the $580 entry fee and get the International 32GB version. You get quad-core Tegra 3 (*) as a nice mix.

(*): regardless of how bad Tegra 3 is compared to other SoCs, I have found it to be a major improvement over Tegra 2 and all other dual-core SoCs. Also since nVidia backs Tegra 3, it gets a lot more cool games than other SoCs.

Do you mean under its warrenty? and where would one take it for repair? sorry for the noob questions, btw, I have an iPhone 4 and I had to take it in for repairs where I live and

since theres only one iPhone-repair store in my area it was freaking packed and just not worth the trouble.

Thx, Jake

By the time your battery start getting weak, your 1 yr warranty will be long gone.
Anybody can do it by simply watching a video on youtube or something.
You could have replaced your IP4 battery with ease.
The difficulty of replacing the ip4 battery is like 1 out of 10.
The 3g and 3gs is probably 5 just because you have to lift out the mainboard too.
