is there a comparison b/w this, the incredible s and the desire s?

The IncS and Desire S are both powered by the same second gen Snapdragon and Adreno 205 that powers the TB, Inspire, and Desire HD. Should get comparative performance from those. Storage/RAM may be different though.

to be fair they had just been switching between apps so there was a lot of stuff in memory. also, it didn't seem to be slowing the phone down at all.

True, and im sure some of the kernel dev's will be able to squeeze out maybe 50 more mb of free memory, but with the evo 3d and atrix having 1gb of memory it just seems weird that htc went with 768... don't get me started on the lg 3d phone with a mere 512mb.

That's a modest statement. Despite the higher resolution, the performance is a significant upgrade over the single core solution. Only 1GB of user accessible storage though (and a 8GB SD card)

Anandtech benched this SoC, albeit running at 1.5 GHz, unknown amount of RAM and I think the MDP ran at 800x480 so take the numbers with a grain of salt. Still, a dual core with the Adreno 220 is superior to anything else.

As for RAM, barring intentionally trying to slow down the phone or serious memory leaks, 768MB should suffice. I have yet to hit a wall with the 576MB on my HD2.

Reading what I just posted, I am becoming quite a fanboy of this one. All this time of being deprived of a top phone on T-Mobile took it's toll...

I'm starting to get somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth for HTC build quality as of late. I liked the build quality of my Nexus One but it was on T-Mobile so it had to go. Bought and got rid of a Droid Incredible pretty quickly because of the build quality. Bought and kept a Droid X for nearly a year and sold it when I bought the Thunderbolt(A decision I now regret. Should have waited for the Bionic). Power button on my Thunderbolt is starting to recess to the point where it is becoming difficult to press at all, installing the official extended battery dramatically reduces GPS signal. These two are very common issues that are design flaws, trading the phone in for another isn't gonna solve it. The actual signal reception isn't as good as the X either.

tl;dr- Not very excited for the HTC Sensation
First Pliablemoose, and now you too?
I wanted to get the Thunderbolt under 1 yr contract for $229 last week, but I noticed Verizon had already upped the price on it by $40 or so.
In fact 1 year isn't coming up as an option as of tonight(unless it just some dude fumbling with the website options to prepare for the April 17th deadline).

Somehow, I'm now glad I didn't get it.
I don't have much hope for Bionic so I might sit that one out. Not a fan of Blur and locked boot loaders.
