Hello All,
I'm fairly HTML savy, but I find doing it with an auto complete/ options presented when coding to be so much quicker. (As it will sometimes remind me of an option I had forgotten.)

I'm looking for a Mac (OSX 10.5) based piece of software that autocompletes/ suggests code for HTML/XHTML/ and CSS. It doesn't need a WYSIWYG editor on it, I just would like the autocomplete. Free would be the best option, cheap would be a 2nd choice. I really like Dreamweaver's interface, but at almost 400 bucks it is more than a little out of my price range. (Considering I code once every so often, and not all the time.)

Thanks in advance. (PS: I am asking you all simply because a Google search turned up a lot of options. I want personal recommendations from the things you have actually used. I am trying to avoid downloading 10+ programs and cluttering my poor computer up.)

Coda is GLORIOUS. But it is still pricey relative to standard fare pricing for non-Adobe/MS products. It's $99. You may also want to look at the public beta of Espresso: http://macrabbit.com/espresso/ -- CSS Edit is a slick program, but too limited for my usage usually (CSS only is just not enough in a single app).

Thanks everyone. Coda is more to my price range and looks pretty cool. I'll give the trial a try and see what I think.

Check out BBEdit. It has some autocomplete functionality and some other features you might like, and it's in the same price range as Coda.

When developing at home I use SVN, so Coda is AMAZING.
When developing for work.. BBEdit is clutch as we use CVS.. if only Coda could implement CVS.

This being PHP/HTML/CSS.

I played with Coda for a while, and really like it for what little HTML I do. I only got the trial since I don't do that much HTML and just like it better for whatever reason than just editing in plaintext. I think that it is that so much is built into it that helps me.
