I would contact Ceton and ask if they have any experience with Mediacom. They're supposed to be helpful with any and all install issues and that should include CableCARD support. I know that they have been in contact with some content providers about their support.

I wouldn't buy an ATI DCT since they never were really supported and they're pretty expensive for a single tuner.

The Ceton is completely useless if you install it in a computer without a CableCARD. Once you get it setup with a CableCARD you can remove the card and it will continue to function as a QAM tuner but not until it has been successfully paired with a CableCARD. I haven't heard a firm explanation for this behavior but a lot of people think it's a Microsoft problem.

Thanks for the advice. I may actually move it to a differen't side of the room where I will be able to get that full distance for the projector.

I just emailed Ceton to ask about experience in my area, so I'll see if they have any information for me.

Since I'm parting out the sound system.

I'm guessing I have to get the audio cables myself. Anyone have any recommendations? The rear speakers are probably going to be positioned 12-15' back from the receiver, of course I'm going to try to hide wires so need some extra length.

I haven't really read up on this but has someone tries this to confirm this behavior like over a TGB or something? It's completely opposite of the way the ATi DCT works and may hamper my HTPC upgrade I'm planning. I was hoping to move to a matx Core i3 with a single pci-e slot and get a ceton to use as a single 4-tuner QAM setup.

I just reformatted and reinstalled 7 on my HTPC yesterday and Windows didn't blink an eye at setting up the DCT as a 5th QAM tuner.

Edit: I went snooping on TGB and even though Ceton says it will not work, it does for several people. But several people also say that it doesn't work for them. Ceton says that the incompatibility will be fixed in a future firmware upgrade for the card. So I guess at this point it's a 50/50 roll of the dice, eh?
