Thats the truth. I always went with the idea that I would only pick up stuff that I may like to play. And it there are plenty on the shelf I leave it so others may benefit. I am blessed by the fact that in Houston not many use the Internet for these deals and there are a lot of CC B&M around. If I was in LA or SF bay area, there would be nothing left on the shelf or bin and it would just be a waste of gas.

Ditto. I am often right by the Baybrook/Houston CC, so I managed to pick up ten games total throughout the prior week... I'm keeping 8 to play myself, and gave two to my nephew. I even saw others that might sell well or get trade-ins, but I didn't bother picking them up because I wasn't ever going to play them myself. It makes me feel better about myself, in the very least.

We have 2 options:

Option 1
Teach him a lesson.
Steps:
1)wait for him to split up the games individually.
2)Win his auction (for a reasonable price).
3)Give him negative feedback after he gives you positive feedback.
If we did this 78 times, he would have 90% positive feedback which will hurt his sales.

Option 2
Let it go.

Um, you really shouldn't give him negative feedback to him on ebay just because he stole your precious games from Circuit City. The ebay feedback is for how the transaction goes on ebay. Giving him negative feedback because he lucked out on the Circuit City deal is extrememly lame. I don't like how people buy up the games then sell them on ebay either, but your idea sounds like a battlecry for "Revenge of the Nerds".

$850 isn't very reasonable for all that garbage.

It seems this person has two other "lots" of games auctions.

Unless they totally wiped out the entire area, they might be getting them from another vendor.

My CC was all sold out on Friday. I guess someone didn't take the games off the floor like they were supposed to so their whole stick was nearly completely wiped out by Sunday. There was a line "down the street" on Sunday morning, and all that was left in the store was some older Xbox/PS2 sports titles, some REALLY crappy GBA titles (I'm talking like Razor Scooter games, some dorky Sumo Wrestling game, etc), and there were a few copies of Star Wars Clone Wars for GC left (I picked one up). Lots of ticked people at that store

Houston/Baybrook CC has put stickers over all the "good" (non-sport) titles... the cashier's refuse to ring them up at $4.99.

They also supposedly had two copies of the magical $4.99 Mario Kart (the one with the red banner and bonus disc from last Christmas), but I couldn't find them. The cashier said, "I dunno... must be stolen or in the back or something." My hero.

The deal, she's a dying...

Same here in CT. A bunch of games that were on the list now have new UPC tags on them - you can tell because they say something like Value Game on them.

As a matter of fact, two games, Legends of Wrestling and Freekstyle both had the same UPC code on the new sticker that covered the old UPC.

And VirtuaFighter 4 for PS2 had the CC Value Game stickers on the front and new UPC stickers on the back.

Oh well, thus ends a great deal - though there may be some stuff that they missed, but it looks like they were pretty thorough going thru the stock in my local CC.

Sigh...

I'll check on this today, if I can. What's piqued my interest thus far is:

Ikaruga (GC)
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (XBox)

I already have SH2, but for any of you die hard Silent Hill fans you should know that the Xbox version has some extra stuff that the PS2 version is missing. (Hence the secondary title "Restless Dreams") Unfortunately they didn't remove the "suck" parts of the game -- like there only being 3 types of monsters in the whole game -- but it does offer some additional endings which explain things in further detail.

For any of you with Dreamcasts you've probably already played or heard of Ikaruga. It's one of the most complex and incredibly difficult scrolling shooters out there. Definitely worth $5.

All you San Diego peeps who missed out on the CC deal, here's the reason why:

Stop the witch hunt already...
If you do a search under pass auction for this persion, they have been been selling those since june 9th... so i dont think those are from CC...

Well, for those who can still find the games for $4.99, and are trying to figure out what's good, here's a list of all* the XBox games that rated a 7.0 or higher (out of 10) at Gamespot. 8.5 and above are boldfaced.

* I removed most of the football/basketball/baseball/golf games, as I?m not a sports guy and never play sports video games. They totaled about 15 games IIRC.

In all but two cases, this was the rating from an official review. Exceptions are noted below.

Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance - 8.5
Blood Omen 2 - 7.6
Blood Rayne - 7.2
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 8.3
Burnout 2 - 8.6
Colin McRae Rally 3 - 8.6
Crimson Sea - 7.5
Dead or Alive 3 - 7.9
Dead To Rights - 7.6
DOA Beach Volleyball - 6.0. But... she... kicks... high.
Dynasty Warriors 3 - 7.3
Fatal Frame - 7.7
Gladius - 8.4
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets - 7.3
Haunted Mansion - 7.0
Metal Gear Solid: Substance - 8.7
Mojo - XBox ver not reviewed (Xbox Magazine gave it 7.3/10)
Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) - 7.9
Moto GP2 - 8.9
Motor Trend: Lotus Challenge - Not reviewed (user rating is 7.7)
New Legends - 7.0
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - 7.9
Panzer Dragoon Orta - 9.0
Pirates of the Caribbean - 7.6
Pro Race Driver - 7.7
Quantum Redshift - 7.1
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - 8.1
Roadkill - 7.6
Serious Sam - 8.5
Shenmue 2 - 7.3
Silent Hill 2 - 7.9
Splashdown - 8.2
Star Wars: Clone Wars - 7.5
Star Wars: Jedi Outcast - 8.3
State of Emergency - 7.8
SWAT [Global Strike Team] - 8.1
Syberia - 8.1
The Thing - 8.4
Voodoo Vince - 7.8
Wakeboarding Unleashed - 7.3
XGRA: [Extreme-G Racing Association] - 7.4

Lance,

I picked up my copy of Virtual Fighter 4 at the Baybrook store. It was on the shelf and not marked. That store had lots of the games still on the shelf as of last Wed. I have not been back there. I live by the Almeda store. The Almeda store only has sports games, SSX, and racing games left.

I was there on Wednesday and tried to get them to ring a few up. They had those stickers on them that made them ring up $19.99 or $29.99, and the cashier said he would not take the sticker off. No biggie, I got about 10 games from it all. I still might check back on Saturday... might even buy the $25.99 Crimson Skies.

FYI, Troy... you might want to check out MetaCritic, 'cause GameSpot isn't always the most reliable reviewer of games.

Lance--

Thanks for the tip on MetaCritic, I will check them out. I know GameSpot can be, well, Spotty  but I wasn't sure who else had good (and extensive) reviews of all those games.

deals not too dead...
just got the following 4.99 games two hours ago at one of our cc

CG
baldurs gate
monopoly party
big mutha trucker
MX superfly
scooby-doo
Jimmy Neutron
Tetris Worlds

PS2
Naval Ops

did notice that all those that rang up at 4.99 did not have the value price sticker. I guess someone got lazy at that store, because once I find a 4.99 title, i just check that whole stack for the ones without the new label. Some others that did not have the new label are ranging up at regular retail price.

sidenote...
the atari 10 in 1 game that plug directly into your tv is at 14.99
