HUGE $4.99 Game Clearance at Circuit City stores

I don't know how the heck people are still picking up games. Stores near me were cleared out long ago.

I managed to pick up a 3 PS2 games today. The only game I didn't get on the clearance sale was Activision Anthology because it still rang up the "normal" price. There are still a few games at the Fort Worth (hulen) and Hurst stores.

this young CC worker was taking off the $4.99 games because they made a $4.99 bin so i said are those the $4.99 games she was like yep, i politely asked if i could take a look at them and she was like sure so picked up these games today. I guess on sunday it will be even easier to find these games since they will be in a big bin, thats if they are still there by sunday

Just got back from the CC on Stevens Creek BLVD in Santa Clara, they have a bin full of games still. The prices are not marked down until they ring them at the till...grab what you want and do a price check. Lots of PS2 and Xbox games left, I grabbed most of the Gamecube games.

Alright, I've proven myself wrong. I got a bunch of games today. Some quite good. I had to go to the CC that was the furthest out in the boondocks in my metro area. The other, closer CC I went to was barren.

The interesting thing is that there are still lots of errors and ommissions on the main list.

I was told that once these games are gone, thats it so there is no point updating the list. Get them while you can

Is this sale happening again on the 11th? Can someone confirm? I did not see any posting on this upcoming sale

Several people have claimed that there are many games not on the list that are ringing up $4.99. Also, CC stores are getting new stock on Wednesday and Saturday. However, these might be held for the "real" sale on Sunday (it will be in the Sunday ad, and they obviously have to have some in stock or else it will appear as a "bait and switch").

I'll get you the errors and omissions once I can get access to the stuff I bought. But I can say that neither Virtua Fighter 4 or VF4 Evolution are on sale.

Also, I talked to the sales guy at CC about how weird the sale was and he said that CC was still making money because they got these games for $4.80 !!

Went to a different CC today, they had a few xbox games. PS2 was cleared out. A note about Morrowind.... it needs to be the "game of the year" edition; a black cover instead of a gold one, and it can't be the platinum hits version. I don't know if this was mentioned before, i just skimmed the posts in this thread.

Most are for my 9 year old.
I really wanted to score a 'Viewtiful Joe' but oh well(anybody wanna trade?) .
There were a TON of sports games left, w/most stuff in a seperate bin. Had to hunt for a couple of the better titles on the racks. Passed on quite a few including 'The Sims', 'Minority Report' & 'Britney's Dance Beat'. I may go back tomorrow .

Apparently the ones here are all Out of Stock here in Orange County!! Is there anyone that might be able to pick up Disgaea for me?

Does anyone know if the stores in Southern California are going to restock, and if so, when? I've been trying to call and ask when I go, however the employees have not been much help to me at all!

The vultures picked San Fran Van Ness CC to the bone... Unless you want Shox or Munche's Oddesy... Plenty of those.

Yeah, the only thing left at CC in Santa Ana was Wheel of Fortune. At the one in Irvine, they pulled them off the shelves because they thought it was a pricing error, and the employees also wanted first dibs before everyone else as well -- just in case -- yesterday. I really hope they restock

Small world. I was at the CC in Santa Ana today as well around 4:30pm. And you're right, there was nothing there.

Remember that many stores have pulled stock from shelves into their back rooms, so games may be hidden away until Sunday.

Some stores are also saying they'll recieve warehouse shipments.

Some are recieving updated lists with even more titles being put on clearance.

So it pays to check out or call your local CC.

The employees at my local Circuit City (Melbourne, FL) said people came in on Sunday to buy some of these games, but they had a decent selection left.
Some of the games were still on the shelf and not in a bin, the employee had a list he was using to pull the games off the shelf.

I picked up:
UFC2, ESPN NHL 2K4, High Heat 2004, Tiger Woods 2003, Indy Car Racing and NASCAR Thunder 2002 for XBox. And Big Game Hunter (for a friend) for PS2. Felt like Christmas - thanks AT!

Well I stopped at a CC B&M to see what was left. Gathered up some games and found a cool sales clerk to check the prices for me. He asked if I knew something about a price reduction and I said I had heard from a friend that some games were reduced but not marked. He said that actually there was to be a sale next week starting Sunday 7/11 and I should come back then. He said that they had pulled the games to be clearanced next week into bins in the back and were holdling them for the sale. There are still a few out on the racks that they had missed and some folks were finding them, but to come back Sunday for the salesfest. I thanked him for the tip. (I also found a copy of Sega Soccer Slam for the GC that was on sale for $4.99).

So that's what's going on at the CC's in my neck of the woods and maybe at the others nationwide. He also said there might be a shipment coming in but not till Sunday (not so sure about that).

Went back to the two local CCs today and hit pay dirt, got Romance of the 3 kingdoms 7(PS2), Ghost Recon (GC), Hitman 2 (GC), Beyond:G&E (PS2), Jedi Starfighter (x-box) and SSX Tricky, Timeslpitters 1, and Devil May Cry 1 (all PS2) for my brother

Just noticed almost all of the games that i picked up are not on the list (B:G&E being the exception) They are the non greatest hits versions of all of them be on the lookout!
