HUGE $4.99 Game Clearance at Circuit City stores

I checked the hayward CC last night. they had mostly sports games. nothing that intrested me, but thought some of you might want to know.

i also checked the mountian view and concord CC, but they all gone.

I double that.. the story is just plain whacky. Me and my friends always say the developers gathered around a table, smoked some pot, and then wrote the story... becoz its just plain bizarre.

I went yesterday... totally cleaned out. So i ended up going all over town searching for this game I really wanted. Ended up paying $40 :\ But I'm happy now, until the buyers remorse sinks in after I beat it several times.

I went to the Dublin, CA CC a couple days ago, and they had the crappier games left.
I still was fortunate enough to grab Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, for a cent. LOL.
Also got Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2.

I called up the Concord CC yesterday, and the sales rep said that their sale is starting on Sunday, that the management made them put all their games in the back. That's why you saw nothing there Drift...Unless ofcourse, the guy was lying, which I would doubt.

why would he tell the truth? they say anything to either get the customer off the phone or to by a warranty
keep calling though.
i bought armored core 3, shadowman, etc etc etc
but of course i drove to the store [myself] and checked for [myself]...

Tons of sports games at most CC stores, and a few other options (I almost bought Tony Hawk 2 for GC and Wipeout Fusion for PS2... but I don't really like racing games, and I didn't like THPS3 when I rented it. Sorta paled in comparison to TH2, imo).

So good luck to people on Sunday. I know I'll be there at opening time.

I agree, they lie quite a bit ... or they make up stuff when they don't really know. When I called around to the same CC about 5 times, I would get a different answer each time.

We'll see how things are on Sunday though.

I stopped by last sunday after this deal had leaked. When I walked in the first of 4 area CCs there was a guying scrounging through the PS2/XBOX rack with an employee in tow to scan various titles. He told the guy he had heard on the internet about some $4.99 game sell but didn't know which ones it was.

I had a list and picked a few GC titles I wanted.
The cashier mentioned that she thought there was some type of sale on these but they didn't know which ones they were (Apparently several people had already been through)

Went back a few days later and just about all of the applicable games were gone (including the 12+ copies of universal studios)

Just went again yesterday and they now have the game bins up with the $4.99 clearance banner on them and it does look like they got a few more titles in. Mostly various sports games or really bad other titles. So I'd say there is a decent chance of them getting some more in by Sunday, but don't expect anything of value unless you get real lucky.

Just got back from the Stevens Creek store in Sunnyvale, 2 bins now full of games. I even picked up 2 gameboy advance games there for $5..my kids are going to be happy now

Stockton CC has a 4.99 bin also. Went yesterday and all they had were sucky sports games from 2 years back. Went back this morning and they had thrown about 20 more games in the bin. They weren't the best games in the world, but at $5, who is complaining.

Dropped by the San Diego Clairemont CC, it was all cleaned out for XBOX games except for some bad sport games in the 4.99 bin. Lots of PS2, GBA, and Gamecube games left. I'll be checking out the CC in Carlsbad for better picking. I hope they restock tonight.

Just checked the CC ad online and it mentions the 4.99 clearance games... I'll take this as a good sign. See y'all there tomorrow morning before store opening!

Just got back from CC (Columbus, OH). Either there was no restock or it was a horrible excuse for a restock. They had 7 different titles for xbox, of which 4 had at least 3 copies (wreckless = 6 copies, ESPN world series baseball = 8 copies) PS2 had a few more, but some kid came in as i left and had at least 10 games. If you're in the columbus area, better off checking at morse rd.

Went to the Willowbrook CC in Houston, TX... there was nothing good left, and I was one of the first in the store... *sigh* oh well... maybe they'll get more games on Wednesday....

Also, A LOT of the games from the list at the beginning of this thread are NOT 4.99. About half of the ones we price checked were the price on listed on the game (ie: 39.99 and 49.99)

Make sure you watch those prices!
