Anyone who wants/needs a powerful pro graphics card without the big premium you can get the W8100 (Tonga Hawaii based) Firepro for $1100! Down from over $2000. Add to that AMD is offering a one time 50% rebate on Firepro cards. That would make your final price ~$550. That's an outrageously good deal for a pro product of this level.

Tiger direct has it listed too. $1085

I know this deal isn't for everyone, but if you are someone who uses pro applications, even casually, and has been frustrated by lack of proper support with gaming cards, this could be a once in a lifetime chance to get a card like this at an affordable price.

This could be a good deal for some, but please pay attention to the details. This isn't a normal rebate where you buy first and later fill out some forms and send them in.
This isn't really meant for normal end users either.

1. You have to meet requirements, and this promotion is mainly for companies.
2. You have to get pre-approved, and then you buy the card you want.

See terms and conditions:

http://www.fireprographics.com/experience/us/terms.asp

"The Experience AMD FirePro™ Professional Graphics Rebate Offer (the “Promotion&#8221 is open to pre-approved (as defined below) end-customer companies, partnerships and sole proprietorships..."

Maybe it's easy to claim you have a sole proprietorship, but I'm not sure.
Do your research so you don't get burned.

Looks like on TD you just add to cart and purchase for $1085. The "rebate" through AMD seems like an afterthought that you can try to pile on with, but isn't necessary if you just want to buy the card for $1085. Or am I missing something?

The rebate is extra. You get it for the $1085. TBH I didn't read all of the fine details of the rebate. Nothing that PG posted though seems to eliminate the rebate. It just casts doubt. I'll have to look. AFAIK, you just apply and get it.

BTW It's Tonga silicone, not Tahiti. So, it's AMD's latest chip.

You aren't really missing anything, you can buy this for full price if you want, but this is the Hot Deals forum. People are looking for good deals. People who are willing to pay full retail for things typically won't be here.

If you qualify for the rebate it's a good deal. I just wanted to warn people that this isn't the typical rebate. I am not sure everyone will qualify, and they say people need to be pre-approved. You don't buy first and fill out paperwork later on this one.
If someone buys this card for over $1000 and then finds out later they don't qualify for the rebate and didn't meet the terms and conditions, well, I expect they will be more than a little upset.

Exactly. The point is does someone who keeps looking for hot deals would be interested in a $1k graphic card? maybe they do if they really need it.
Who knows lol

AMD actually tells you to get the approval before you buy a card. They don't make it seem like they are going to exclude most or a lot of people. It's more likely that they want to be sure you are a qualified first time buyer. It's a big rebate after all.

The hot deal is that this is being offered for $1085 instead of retail, which is over $2k. The rebate, which as PG points out likely won't apply to most, would be nice, but this would still be a hot deal even without it for people in the market for a card like this that don't want to spend $2k+.

I went through the pre-approval process and just received my code. They are not picky at all. Even used my personal email instead of work email.

Now I can drive my 3x 1080p and 1x 4K 40" TV which I have in my office with a single card.

That's a really sweet deal then. Very cool. Did they ask you for a federal tax id or state tax number or was it just the basic questionnaire form on the website?
