This is true. But that's because it wasn't a Sandler movie, it had competent writing and directing and Sandler was just an actor.

Exactly. It worked because Sandler got to keep playing his typical raging man-child character in a role that did something interesting with it.

Very doubtful, for one that movie worked because 90s Adam Sandler and Wayans was a good fit for that setup. I can't stand Sandler now and throw David Spade in there and that sounds just irritating. I'm sure it can't suck as bad as a bunch of the other shit he's pushed out in recent years, but the preview (really fucking hate Netflix autoplaying trailers for their shit) didn't look good enough for me to be interested, and I'd rather not give Netflix the click so they can misinterpret it as "yes, please enable Adam Sandler to keep making shitty movies" versus I was bored and meh.

I watched it Friday night. It was ok. No real belly laughs or anything but a few well played jokes.

Considering some of the past flicks, this was pretty good in comparison.

My favorite is Grandma's Boy, but Sandler wasn't actually in it.

yes but mostly because of PT Anderson. It wasn't an "Adam Sandler movie"....I think it is the only movie he's been in that wasn't part of his production studio?

My fave of his is still Little Nicky though.

Even with this warning, the flare gun caught me off guard as well. Because bewbs.

I thought this movie was a good and much needed distraction. I thought some parts were hilarious.

Also saw it over the weekend. It was nice to see Sandler in something other than the typecast child roles, made the movie decent.

Just to warn you, the last set of bewbs shown are something you may never forget....

Yeah...the movie probably would've done much better without that scene.

So? The studio makes a lot of money, that doesn't mean the movies are good. Look at Jack and Jill. It's a critical bomb, the only movie ever to sweep the Razzies in a year and made the "worst movies ever" list, but was still a commercial success. Haven't ever seen the movie (or plan to) and those facts make me treat every movie Happy Madison makes with high skepticism. I'm definitely not the only one to see it this way.
