What exactly is it, and should I bother reading it? Looks kinda interesting, and I know it's been around for a good while, but I've never actually read anything from it, or looked into it~

There's a BBC miniseries-type-thing that kinda skips around the first three books. It's actually really good even though it was made in the (guessing) mid-80s (?). If you look around, you can DL the whole thing.

Well I just got a gift cert to B&N for my birthday so I think I'll take a stop by there after work today and see if I can't pick myself up that ultimate copy - Seems interesting enough, albeit a little weird~

great books. they're a weird combination of sci fi and satire.

well worth reading, though, especially since you can usually pick up a 1-volume edition for under $15 in the Barnes and Nobels clearance racks.

Sam Rockwell as Zaphod is interesting as is Adams writing the screenplay. I picked up the "Ultimate" guide not long ago and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it will be yet another movie where I've read the book and will know the story going into it.

No, Arthur Dent is the main character. Ford is definitely one of the main supporting characters, but it's definitely Arthur.

No, Arthur Dent is the main character. Ford is definitely one of the main supporting characters, but it's definitely Arthur.

Don't they have PBS where you live?

Either way, Douglas Adams is British and if you like British comedy, you'll definitely like The Guide. If you don't like British comedy, you may not like it, but you should still give it a try because it's very good.
